This unrivaled beauty is what happens when an incredibly powerful earthquake makes a river as big as the Mississippi halt, REVERSE it's course!!!! and get pushed into an already beautiful valley in an even more gorgeous state!!!! Tennessee is one of those places where 100 lifetimes isn't enough to come anywhere close to discovering all of its secrets and endless ways it can give you what you need or want!!

Beautiful Lake an excellent video thank you sir. Since I'm on KZbin now I came to this channel for this reason. In 2005 I visited your beautiful Lake while I was pouring concrete at Coast Guard base Hickman Kentucky. 12 hours a day 6 days a week I poured 600 River Channel sinkers without fail in 105 degree weather. I love nature so I visited the museum the park the cemetery and Reelfoot Lake. I went to The Vape Shop come on Google the fishing bait shop! I bought a snack in a beer I went and sat down by the lake 200 yards away from the store. I was admiring the scenery and I heard some scratching noises on the pine tree I was leaning on I looked up and there was the most fantastic lizard I have ever seen. It was not like or California alligator lizard which is mostly Brown it had about five different colors and stripes and lines this lizard was about 7in long I picked up my cheap Kodak box camera to snap a picture but that lizard was gone! I will never forget that I rushed back to the store and told the old-timer about it he laughed and laughed and laughed! He told me you been out in the hot sun too long! I then looked at the newspaper articles on the wall about this lizard was supposed to be extinct? But I know what my eyes saw! Unless somebody dropped off a lizard from South America or somewhere the lizard I saw look like the Reelfoot Lake lizard and I will never forget it. Gods Honest truth! I considered calling the paleontology department and Reporting it to the University's and the park rangers but being just a laborer from another state with a limited time and no cell phone I had to keep moving but I will never forget that lizard that day at Reelfoot Lake. Yes I am from California to please don't hold that against me and I have a clean criminal record and a sound mind and good eyes so I wanted to let you know the story sir cuz those are lizards could still be alive there I know absolutely for sure I saw a seven-inch lizard with four to five different colors on that pine tree and he had his eye on my snacks. I also saw some jumping fish and a land terrapin and one big mean old cottonmouth snake so I did not go swimming! Also the people of Tennessee treating me very graciously thank you one day I will go back hike the Appalachian Trail and visit Reelfoot Lake a Kim

Beautiful dog. I had forgotten the Lilly Pads/Lotus Flowers in Reelfoot Lake area. I have family that look ves by Reelfoot Lake, (Eddlemon's), and as a child we use to gather frr Extended Family Cookouts in the Park, (Go to the Round House, take the Boat ride, and Ride the Train) *circa 1965. I am a Painter/Artist, Writer, and a Floral Designer would enjoy "Floating a Lotus" for a Table Centerpiece. Appreciate this great share. Subscribed. I didn't know about the Seed/Nuts, I know the Egyptians revered the Lotus, and used to add it to their Wine. Best Regards, Beth Dyer County, TN Note to Self: Presenter (David) Possible Resource for Book.

gorgeous. There are fairly frost-proof pink water lilies growing off of the highway in ponds in Swainsborough, GA. Go get some and transplant them in your lake. i bet they'd survive. The combo of pink and yellow would be incredibly gorgeous. Also, big elephant ears that are frost-proof are in that area - saw them under a bridge.

My wife and I are from northwest Tennessee and we own a cabin just north of Troy! I have fished Reelfoot over the years, visited Reelfoot Nature Park many times and we eat at Boyettes a couple times a month. We will be back home in April and I want to know if you are available for a nature tour similar to what you have in this video. I would like to surprise my wife of 46 years with a tour. Thanks

What's the bass fishing like on this lake?

I’m a woman who enjoys fishing. I’ve been on the lake about four times this month fishing from the bank, and only caught one nice sized catfish. However, I’ve seen many guys out here on their boats especially yesterday, (Friday). Most of them fish for bass, crappie, and bluegill. It seems like the younger ones go for the catfish more than the older generation. Bass fishing is very popular on this lake. Come on and check it out. Reelfoot lake is thirty minutes north of Dyersburg, TN. There are a few resorts and inns there if you plan to stay overnight and a couple of restaurants with pretty good food.

I imagine the bass in that lake are near impossible to find let alone catch!!! Maybe if you're a local and can spend endless amounts of time lookin for the good spots! The way that lake is put together though, oh baby, I bet there's a few state record bass in there maybe even a world record!!! Seems like they have an OVERWHELMING supply of food and so much dang cover that they've possibly never even seen a lure!!!! It's just incredible to think that an earthquake created one of the most beautiful places I've seen!!!! There is ALWAYS beauty that comes from disaster, that's just the way everything works, for every nasty thing that happens there is an equal amount of beautiful that also comes about, one can't exist w/out the other.....

I'd be a bit nervous to kayak (I'm thinking, those "Water Moccasins" apt to crawl in with ya, particularly in the Spring during mating season.) 🐢🦢🐍
