I don't know what her problem is. If she's referred to in any way, it's when he makes reference to "God" living in the guest room. I realize that as a songwriter who is primarily a poet, lyrics are of the utmost importance to her, but frankly, he could be singing the contents of the phone book, and I'm not sure that would diminish this song in the least. His guitar work would still be blistering-hot. And the song's about Anne Heche anyway, so what's the deal? Is she jealous?
@kathleenkelly917411 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I can't agree w/this. Lindsey's written a LOT about Stevie, without question, but some of his songs ("Never Going Back Again") actually are about other women, and I believe Heche is the subject of this song.

"Stevie sees herself as being defined within a certain set of boundaries, outside of which things probably don't ring true to her, or to the people who listen to what she does. But at the same time, I think she's intrigued by the idea of pushing the envelope, especially on this album. She never wants to go too far with it, though. For example, I asked her to sing on the song Come and she wouldn't. I think she thought it was dirty." CONTINUED BELOW...

Like I said, I definitely get why she doen't like it. Actually, I always thought the "...put god away, but she's been here a while..." line was about Stevie. I've never seen either of them actually state specifically what/who thie song's about though ( only that Stevie doesn't like it - in general ). If you've read something, I really would love to hear it, but I haven't, so like I said, that's just my opinion.
@leonardsimonis23763 жыл бұрын
I would actually like a new line-up of Fleetwood Mac with Lindsey instead of Stevie in it. They should have chosen Lindsey instead of Stevie. He still writes new music and records it, and Stevie doesn't do that. And look at how well the "Buckingham McVie" album came out! What I always dreamed for was that after 1974 Lindsey and Stevie would join Fleetwood Mac but Bob Welch would have remained. I think Lindsey is the best guitarist of FM, but Welch had a really nice style, and his kinda jazzy input would have contrasted in a great way with Lindsey Pop and Rock songs. Imagine a Tusk with a few Bob Welch songs...would be even greater than it really is. Sadly, Bob is dead now, so that won't ever happen The point I'm trying to make is that FM should go on without Stevie but include some new guitarists as well as Buckingham. I also really liked the line-up with Rick Vito and Billy Burnette. I would really like a line-up with them in, they are great singers and players as well. And listen to "Then Play On" and you see what happens with three guitarists within Fleetwood Mac. I bet they would return to their blues roots. Many don't seem to see it but Lindsey is a great blues guitar player, he just plays more pop and classic rock, but songs like Gold Dust Woman show that. But that's also just wishful thinking... I even would be fine if the actual new line-up with Campbell and Finn would record an album together, it would be better than nothing.
