Probably they'd dissmiss it as some evilish dark magic(arguably a correct interpretation even in modern times). Engineers from the 30's or 40's would be much more impressed since they'd be able to fully grasp what they'd be looking at, yet they'd be probably crying out of sheer joy seeing what is now the ultimate strategic bomber.

OH yeah was part of that program for a few years and very proud of the B-2 So far advanced for it's time and still is today I mean the original concept (YB-49) was Jack Northrop's back in the 1940's should have been the Air force bomber back then except for politics. great company great legacy and now they will build our next bomber

With Russia being the lead in anti air defences, the B-2 survivability is degrading. It's still potent, but by now, the S-400 SAM is capable of detecting it. The only issue modern SAMs are facing is tracking it reliably. Keep in mind that, that problem is minor.

Note - I am not in Lockheed Martin, nor do I have any family / friends / relatives in Lockheed Martin. I am simply an avgeek who spends his time reading aviation articles and reading *basically* all declassified documents about the F-35. Disregard my name, by the way. It's an easy choice. Lockheed all the way. People blame Lockheed for the F-35 disaster (let's admit it, it's a disaster financially. It's an advanced jet, but it's still extremely expensive and behind schedule, mostly because of the concurrent testing / development program), but think about what Lockheed made and is making right now - the SR 71 Blackbird, F-22 Raptor, L-1011 Tristar, C-130 Hercules, C-5 Galaxy, Haive Raider (however it's spelled), CH-53K (Sikorsky is a Lockheed Martin company), and many other projects. Have a look at lockheedmartinvideos for proof, and their website. Northrop Grumman has made some incredible products, too, but it simply can't match Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin has and has mantained dominance over *basically* all of military aviation for many years, and AFAIK, that won't change soon.

That wouldn't happen under the Sherman Anti-Trust act - it's simply illegal - the major defense contractors for the US (in terms of aviation are Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Boeing. If LM and NG were to merge, then they would basically be a monopoly (LM already dominates...). It'll also be a disaster - can you imagine all of the US's defense equipment being produced by 1 or 2 companies? They can charge high prices or make absolute sh*t and the US would have to buy it...

It seems like they deliberately tampered or blurred with the mirage effect of the exhaust gases. Very sneaky. But I think everyone know now that the exhaust is dissipated along several lengths of the trailing edges of the air frame.
