Are you from Utah? The reason I asked is because everybody knows that mormons in Utah live behind the times. The toilet paper craze was winter and spring of 2020 ..that's not happening anymore lol

I didn't know Brother McLellin found love on his mission! There's this historical novel I like that covers the story of Ammon in the Book of Mormon. In it he finds love during his mission among the Lamanites. She believes his message and falls in love with him but her family doesn't approve. They don't believe. Her brother is in love with Abish. Her family wants her to marry a blacksmith but she doesn't like the man. Ammon worked for him when he first arrived but the brother of one of his co-workers was in charge of the king's flocks. This blacksmith had some of the king's servants working for him. But after Kumen's brother died Ammon took over for him as lead herdsman. Kumen went with him. It was the blacksmith's brother who was scattering the flocks. That means the blacksmith (Gad), was the one who sought Ammon's life to avenge his brother. After his death Elena's brother becomes very angry with Ammon and refuses to accept the gospel. He learns that his betrothed believes in the gospel and that makes him very angry. He forbids his sister from spending time with her or Ammon and forces her to stay home. He even threatens to imprison her in a temple of one of their gods. He does make good on his threat. When the king's captain causes a disruption at church one day and announces that Ammon won't live another month Abish steals a meeting with Elena to warn her. Elena sneaks over to his place to warn him and that's when he tells her of his plan to get his brother and friends out of prison in Middoni the next morning. Her brother discovers them. His henchmen take the guards out and capture her while he fights Ammon. When Ammon gains the advantage he forces him to let her go and then make an oath to let his sister make her own choices. Then he lets him go. But her brother attacks again. When the fight is over he is severely injured and unconscious. Ammon commanded Zaman's men to take care of him. Then he took the king's guards to the healer and took her home and spoke to her father about what happened. While he was gone Zaman kidnapped his sister and took her to the Maize Temple. When Ammon came back he broke in to the temple and saved her. Her father repented and converted to the Lord but her brother was banished by King Lamoni.
