It's hard to say if it's more expensive because in the U.S. we don't have standard pricing. Each state and then each city is vastly different when it comes to pricing. Some have no sales tax or sales tax on certain items or sales tax on all items. The midwest and parts of the south tend to be cheaper than the East and West Coast. For example the vegetable oil in my area is $2.39 plus tax 164 Pampers are $28 plus tax Keep in mind each state/and or city will have a different tax rate. However, the inflation has been crazy. Nanelle, I love your videos. Please keep them coming.

You don't pay for trolley in the UK. The coin you put in the trolley is retrieved when you take the trolley back to where you took it. Simply insert the hook back in the trolley to collect your coin. By the way, it doesnt have to be money, you can use any item shaped like the 1 pound coin.

Walmart is a popular place to shop but I will say Food Lion and Aldi are wayyy less expensive. Food lion always has discounts on produce and other items which helps save money. Lots of people shop at Walmart primarily for the convenience but if you’re willing to go to more than one store you’re more likely to find better deals.

I’m horrified at the price of Nivea in the US 😮 $10.27, when I convert that to South African rands it’s way too expensive, practically double the price of what we pay for 400ml, is that a 400ml or the bigger one 625ml? Even if it’s the bigger one it’s still more expensive there.

Some prices are expensive for UK based people bcoz they don't earn in dollars so we cannot equate it to the UK price bcoz UK people earn less. UK doesn't have variety & large sizes of goods. UK products have a short shelf life as compared to US and South Africa.

One thing we should know, is that USA is far from Africa (Nigeria/Ghana) compare to UK which is just 6 hours. It will cost a lot to export our local food to the 🇺🇸

Please don’t forget that the US supports GMO foods which Europe bans (because of their carcinogenic properties) These GMO foods are cheaper options which shops stock freely there. So that’s another thing to keep in mind when shopping in the US, which we in Europe don’t need to worry about.
@NKECHI-NPO Жыл бұрын
@@janettebarlow6083 I disagree with you that UK don't support GMO. Browse food colour code packages. If you enter any shop in uk you only see few organic fresh veg etc on the shelf. GMO food has short shelf life. Have you bought veg in the uk that stay upto a week even when store in the fridge without getting bad.

You cannot compare pounds to dollars 1 for 1. For every $10 that is approximately 7 or 8 British pounds. That is the problem with this-among other things. Certain states are also more expensive than others and sales tax is different in different states.

Most Western countries are the same. Your income is decided based on the prevailing cost of living. People are paid “more” in the US to cover for the cost of living. Same as in Australia. I hear the cost of living is high in Australia, so to compensate they pay you “higher”

Anywhere people earn more, things are expensive. Even within the US, some states have higher standards of living than the others. So the pay is higher in states where their standards of living are high. They have higher minimum wages than those with lower standards of living. US pay is comparatively higher than that of the UK so definitely things will be more expensive. Besides, pounds is greater than dollar.

Haha I hope this is an exaggeration. They paid $6 in tax on $152 worth of stuff. The highest state has 11% sales tax. Something $3 would be $3.33. Some states don't have sales tax. But yeah if you buy something expensive, the tax can add up. Many necessities aren't taxed either. Healthy food items and clothes usually don't have tax.
