The katanas that are hung horizontally are upside down. The bow should be facing up because it is believed to keep the blade sharper and cleaner. When the blade is being pushed into the saya from gravity causing the blade to dull And also, the tsuka (the handle) should be on the left side to show peace and should only be on the right in times of war (would be easier to grab since most are right handed)

hello rae. you've mentioned your father and i realised that i was almost the same (24) age when i lost my mom. for me it's been 3 years and i still can't talk or think about mom without shedding tears, so i hope i'm halfway there and right now im literally crying. i'm anonymous here so it's kinda easier for me to let it out here because i don't have anyone i can talk about it, and ive never talked about it. my dad cheated on mom when she got sick and left after my final exams and he only texts every christmas. now my family is only grandparents (mom's father and mother) who are 74 and 76. what's worse my mom was hiding from me that she had cancer. she was sightseeing a lot of places with her parents and i was refusing to go with them because i was studying maths and doing stuff that other peers did. i knew that she was sick but i didn't know it was a cancer until 1 week before she died. she had metastasis, cancer has spread to a different part of body and brain. she also had a stroke so we didn't get to talk. she was on paliative care but we never talked. she didn't want to tell me because i'm sensitive. she was kinda preparing me to live on my own but my brain was rejecting thought that she might had a cancer.
