@@frumitup i cried the very first time I heard you say it. I was already in awe watching the video, and, tbh, I'm no longer sure exactly WHICH video, cus as soon as I see one recommended (or a new one!), I watch! While I tend to cut most videos short as they wind up... I cannot do that with yours. Your simple, heart-felt statement at the end feels like a balm to my soul, which so desperately needs it. Overall, watching your videos, I feel... so calm. Peaceful. Your movements aren't rushed, but deliberate. You put your whole self into what you are doing. You, yourself are so calm and gentle, and soothing. You lead a very busy life - and yet, there is absolutely zero indication of that hecticness! I was raised as a reform Jew by my parents. I decided I wanted to join a synagogue so I asked my friend and neighbor where she goes. She told me that she is in Chabad of Waterways in Florida in North Miami. I started going to shui last year after Pesach and I'm very pleasantly surprised how accepting and open they were. I feel so much better since I became more religious in a mental sense. I'm 55y/o but I'm more like a 35 y/o. I've never married nor had kids . I started out later in life, but I don't regret anything. I feel I'm ready to embrace my heritage totally.

1- My admiration for you being in Doctors without Borders. THAT by it self is fabulous. 2- I think your videos performs a valuable service to combat anti-Semitism. I'm not Jewish myself but rising anti-Semitism and other discrimination is a concern and I think you take the "mystery" out of Jewish life which will help calm people's paranoia and ignorance. Plus the home care information you give is also I'm sure something everyone can find helpful and also help dispel fears and attract. 3- "Only" 7 languages? You're ahead of most of us. 4- I married my husband 2 months after we met. 50 years this year. 5- You have very lucky kids, you accommodate them and their likes and dislikes which gives them a sense of value to you. 6-Your endings of value to your audience is a nice touch as well. I'm sure many people feeling down get a lift from that.

Sarah, this is the one and only time I have ever commented on a KZbin video... I've been shy to tell you this but now is the moment! I discovered your channel a year ago; I was baptized and raised as an atheist, although both my parents were Jewish, and in my heart I felt Judaism calling. As an adult, I have been working to own my Jewish identity and bring Judaism into my daily life, without any real guidance or community... I decided to begin with Shabbat, to bring this ritual into my home for my children, and after a quick search I found your channel (and Sonya's Prep, so wonderful too)... I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Since last October I have observed Shabbat every week without missing once. I give your videos credit for teaching me how to even begin. My children now love shabbat and share it with their friends and my husband's Catholic family. They identify as Jewish, finally. I feel my connection to Judaism has finally planted some roots, through this ritual and tradition. And I turn to your videos each week for guidance and inspiration, which I never had before. So, as you said you created this KZbin channel to help someone, know that this someone's entire relationship to her Jewishness - and that for my children - has been impacted by your beautiful, loving, thoughtful content. thank you for being you and for sharing your grace and wisdom with us, and for giving me the gift of Shabbat, and my children (and me) the gift of belonging 💜

Let me give you a hug, Justine. I understand what you try to tell. My parents were also Jewish (however ateists), and I felt Judaism calling - even during my childhood, when I did not know much about traditions. This is wonderful you obey Shabbat with your kids. So many wonderful traditions we have. Shabbat Shalom

I thought I was the only person who prays for parking spaces! G-d loves us and wants to give us many gifts each day. We must be aware of this, call on Him, ask for what we need. We must also be aware of the gifts we receive…even sunshine snd the smell of flowers and trees. Also…we must thank G-d for His many gifts. One day, years ago, I had a terrible toothache. My dentist was located at the mall. It was three days before Christmas and the mall was very crowded. Parking places near the mall were almost impossible to get. I was so miserable I prayed for a good parking place near to the mall.As I was driving near the entrance closest to the dentist a man came running out the door, ran to his car which was in the first non-handicap parking spot and drove away just as I was coming to that parking spot. I pulled right in. As I as I was thanking the Lord I said “You didn’t have to make him run!”

I’m Wiccan, but I do the same thing. It’s a 13-mile drive from home to work, and I like to take the back roads instead of the highways because they’re more peaceful and it’s easier to detour when there’s a road closure on the highway, you are _stuck!_ I like to use that time to meditate and thank the Goddess and the God for the blessings I’ve received that day or ask Them for the same when I’m driving to work. I also thank Them for the unusual things I’ve seen, such as seeing a bald eagle swooping after something in a parking lot on my way home from work last week or getting lucky and having to stop for a train at the railroad crossing I drive across every day. And at sunset, I thank Them for the day and ask that They bless everyone and everything, such as an abundant harvest for the farmers, or safe roads during bad weather. In other words, I don’t practice my faith-I _live_ it too! Blessed Be!

Such a soothing voice, calmly walking us through Shabbat Prep, you make it look "effortless"! Such a wonderful way to express your love to your family and keep tradition. Seven languages... I am so impressed! Your closing note resonated with me so much: "if nobody told you today, know that you are loved, and you are enough just the way you are". Thank you 💖

I detect a French accent and know for sure one of the language you speak is French. I only speak four language. It' so delightful to hear you speak clearly and calmly, this is one of the things I love about you. I love everything you and the girls did and wish I could celebrate my shabbat like that too. You are a blessing to us, you've managed well.

You are such a light and a gift in these often dark times. You are truly kind and awe inspiring yet extremely humble. It's remarkable! Thank you for your videos and especially your work in your ICU and MSF(Doctors Without Borders)!! I'm sure your calm demeanor is an extra bonus and very helpful in patient care. I really admire you as a person and also as a mother and wife. You seem sincerely happy and we viewers can sense the love that your family has for each other. It's so special. :)

Thank you, I’ve always been interested in Jewish food, its recipes, the part it plays in the Jewish rituals, and to eat it! I’ve subscribed & am looking forward to more videos. I also love the way you talked to us about friendship & love. Food & it’s traditional place in our lives is very important, especially when shared with friends & family. I too talk to God a lot. I talk to my parents who have now passed, & my best friend Janice. I’m not religious, in that I don’t belong to a religion, but If I was forced to say so, I like to consider myself a pantheist, loving everything God has made, whether it be Mont Blanc to one of my great nieces & nephews, bringing me huge caterpillars in grubby hands. God & I are ok, he’s helping me cope with terminal cancer, because he loves me. Blessings to you & yours. x

I just found this now (2023). I’m inspired because you were struggling (as I am now) and that’s what led to your creation of this KZbin channel. I have recently realized that if I ever find peace it will be through the help of HaShem. And then you mentioned working with Doctors Without Borders, the organization that is closest to my heart! Thank you so very, very much.

Sara, I had tears in my eyes as you described your mission, purpose of your channel and the milestones it’s attained. My life has been influenced by you for the good! Thank you for saying yes to opening your life to us. You are doing so much for so many here in numerous ways. You have a nursing degree!?! Did I understand? I know as an RN myself, your work as a physician is most likely enhanced from your nursing background. I do feel like as I’m watching your videos, we are just visiting in your home. Your daughter’s deserts looked so festive and good! All your food looks delicious. I Love This Shabbat Prep! Take care dear Sara!

In the 1950s, when I was a little girl, ladies (most of my aunts and my grandmothers) met once a week to make quilts. The ladies also met once a month to sort blankets and used clothes for the missions. Seasonally, there were community dinners and socials. The women cooked and baked while the men talked farming and their jobs on the railroad. The children helped out as they were able. Listening to your vlog channel elicits the memories I have of those days. I think women have lost something precious by no longer having those community communal outlets such as sewing, cooking, baking, and enjoying each other's company. So, thank you.

I’m so glad you were able to post again. I’ve missed your posts , my dear Sara. Your voice is so calming and sweet and I feel as if my sister is talking to me one on one. I love the way you answered questions as you cooked and I hope you continue this format. You are such a blessing to be in our lives. I love this Shabbos prep. I’m retired, but I do love making Shabbos for my grandchildren and children and your tips have been such a help to me. I’m suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and I had a kidney transplant 50 years ago so it is difficult for me at times to make Shabbos for my family and just watching you helps me plan. It’s of the utmost importance to me to have these special times with my family and make memories as I can. I would LOVE to see your time blocking. Just one question, do you speak Yiddish? I’m taking a class to learn it to have a special connection with my grandchildren.

I LOVE THIS SHABBAT PREP When I buy flour it's immediately put in the freezer until needed. Bugs do upset me. So after opening the flour is stored in the refrigerator. NO NEW BUGS! Newly bought bread gets 24 hours in the freezer. This insures it will not mold. Just take it out of the freezer the night before and it will thaw at room temperature. Taste and texture are not altered.

My mother's family is from the two states in Mexico founded by Sephardic Jews. We found out that her entire family only ever married into three other family lines--all Sephardic Jews and then they only ever practiced endogamy even until my grandparents but they never understood why. Then we found a direct ancestor in an inquisition record for being Jewish. Growing up I always found Judaism calling me. I started observing Shabbat, but I didn't know how to observe it. So thank you for showing us all how to do so with peace and care.

Dear Sara, where can I find the recipes presented in this video, especially the salads? Although everything you've prepared is pretty easy to understand and adjust to one's taste and preferences just by watching, I'd also like to add the written description of each recipe to my collection of goodies. Thanks a lot and keep the fine "master chef" artsy stuff up and steady ❤
