I keep hearing the same thing in the comments, that people don't have good stuff at their goodwills and Salvation Army....that takes all the fun out of thrifting!!! I guess I should feel lucky, because we really do have some good thrift stores here in my area as you saw, but it also can be dangerous because they are all within a five mile radius from me! You shop just like me. my husband and I were watching you this morning on this video and I said Jim this is what I look like when I’m out shopping… just like this! this is exactly what I do and I’ve even gotten outside and gone back in before to get some thing I was regretting not picking up. I’m in East Central Iowa so I shop in Cedar Rapids (my home town), Waterloo ( where I live close to now) and occasionally Iowa City/Coralville and most times you don’t find much. And the Cedar Rapids and Waterloo are NEVER full of good stuff. Just sayin.

And I had to laugh bc I use to shop with one of my two BFs and she had a lamp shade/no room in car story that always made me laugh. I lost her in 2017 to leukemia. I could hardly breathe while you were deciding on the clock….lol! Isn’t it beautiful? I know this first hand because I bought it at Lowe’s at full price for $129, and I didn’t bat an eye because I had been literally looking for months to find just the right one! So glad you got it! I have to tell you too that you have the best thrift shops I’ve ever seen.! Great stuff in every category. Might be good that the ones in my area don’t even come close because I ya terrible habit of buying things that I just love, but don’t necessarily have a place for. That 3 tiered table and that little chair in the first store is a good example of what I would’ve brought home without knowing where I was going to put them. I found a sail boat lithograph painting from that Rochester Salvation Army years ago. I took my painting to a framing shop and had the matting change. I haven't found a Salvation Army I really like here in Dallas area that I like yet. The Rochester Salvation Army is always filled.

Yeah you should get that cordian saying what they did is they opened it up wide and then stood it oblong and put wooden shelf on it and it was gorgeous to hang on the wall course they glued it together to make it stay where they wanted it stay you should get that Gordy and whatever they call it that they used to hang hats and coats on

Y'all have some of the most amazing thrift stores in your area! I agree with you 💯 percent that some of the prices are too high. I've noticed that quite a bit in our area recently too. Stores pricing things at or above retail when the items are donated is absurd. I understand asking a fair price, but when you charge at or above retail, that's just crazy. Our local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores are nothing like what I see in your videos or even other thrifting videos. Our stores have mostly clothes and only a few shelves of anything else. No wood section, metal section, floral section, glass section, everything is just piled wherever on the shelves along two or three walls of the store. Very unorganized. Oh, and Baja Blast is one of my favorites too!
