My first memory of thrifting is going to a jumble sale (think that's a Scottish word) with my granny to find me a knitted poncho. I was about 5 so 1973 and I got the most amazing rainbow one with pom poms!!!! Xxxxx

You are so cool ! I started to go basic with my wardrobe and it just didn't feel like me. I am so not basic. I found your channel and you made me realize that being yourself and showing personality through clothes. Is the coolest way to be. I have been buying more prints cool t-shirts with logos and it's because you showed me to be myself. I love getting dressed now. Been a thrifter for a long time. Jill, I can relate. Started thrifting in my 20s as well...got the cutest little winter boots for my baby boy and was hooked. Mixing thrifted items with the occasional new-off-the-rack piece made for some interesting looks. Still thrifting at 63, only now I can do it every single week if I feel like it.

It pisses me off when people buy these gorgeous pieces in great condition and then “thrift-flip” them into something hideous with raw hems or distressed knees 🤬 Shop at a modern store or a consignment store like Crossroads and leave the “too vintage” pieces for us who can appreciate old-fashioned things just the way they are!

I live in Guatemala. The jacket you have is made from a huipil- or the traditional dress that women wear here. Most likely it was handwoven, and id have to see the pattern a bit better to see what area it’s from as each community has their own design and colors. Great find, and very special piece!

I’ve always loved flea markets and antique stores, but never for clothes. Not until I was in my late 20s. When I was young, worn in, distressed jeans were something you had to do yourself.. And it took forever. I used to donate to goodwill, and one day, i was in the store and noticed the jeans section...and found a few pairs of great faded jeans, so I went back now and then, though only for jeans. Then a Vincent du Paul opened in my neighborhood, I went in on a whim and found an Ann Taylor trench and a brand new LlBean barn jacket (close to $200 new) for less than $10 each....and that’s when it really started. I’m kind of sad that it’s become so popular....even though it’s a good thing, it’s driven prices up. Still better than buying new...but still.

The dress that Courey passed 16.16 gave a glympse of Zimmerman floral fabric designs collections then the red dress I might considered it wearing as a beach cover up with out the shoulder pads.. I can not remember the designer that make cover ups like that but cost a fortune.. I went to checkout the names, Verandah, Alexis (pavilla dress), or rococo ayaka robe dress. I wish Courey showed us more or the other pieces if clothes like the white and black dress.Nice video.
