After my grandfather passed I was about to get in the car to go say goodbye and I knew that the radio would be on. I said a prayer before getting in that I would hear a song that would mean something. I had never heard this song before and it started from the beginning when I started the car. The comfort this song brings to me is incredible. I knew God gave me a gift that night, almost like a hug.

I've loved this song for years..... but since the death of my 21yr old son 8yrs ago, I couldn't listen to it. I just decided to try it again.... It still brings the chills up my spine, it still makes my heart ache, and it still makes my tears fall. Then that brings to mind another old favorite of mine by Casting Crowns, and the line says- "And every tear I cry, You hold in Your hand.. You've never left my side.....And though my heart is torn, I Will Praise You In This Storm....." Both these songs, plus 3 or 4 more- still have the same effect on me, but why wouldn't they? I still miss my son, 8yrs later, just as much as I did the day his body was recovered. (He was missing 112 days before he was located, deceased 😭💔) But I know my God is faithful. I know I have often felt like the one pictured in The Footprints poem. Which has a totally new meaning to me now. So while learning to live a life without him has by far been the hardest thing I've EVER had to do, I know Jesus has never left me or forgotten me. I still get sad, I still get down, very down, I STILL ask God WHY??? WHY MY JORDAN??? But I know I'm just not meant to know....not until that glorious day I am called to my eternal home. And I know my baby boy will be there, waiting to greet me. Others may forget Jordan, but your Dad & I will NEVER forget you, never stop missing you, and will love you till our last breath. And we will ALWAYS make sure, our biggest blessing ever, your only son, will always know what a wonderful guy you were, and how very, very much you loved him. Besides our Faiith, this little twin of our son, is what's kept us going all these years......... As I listen to this song and read your words my heart is breaking for you. I don’t share your sadness of loosing your son but I live every day praying for my 12 year old Autistic and suicidal grandson. Like your son, my grandson has a sweet soul. But he was mentally and physically abused by his mother who is mentally ill. He sounds more like her every day. I was the one he bonded with at birth because his mother has no empathy. Now he is turning away from me, his only support. His grandfather and grandmother both passed away in the recent past. He threatens to kill himself every single day, over and over. I try to get him through it by telling him some people would do anything to save their lives or get back their lost children, but it falls on deaf ears. I am heartbroken. He is getting some help now but not enough to wash the stain of his past mistreatment away. I have loved this song since I first heard it and want it to be played at my funeral. If my grandson takes his life I will certainly go shortly after because my heart will be so broken. I am so very sorry for your loss. There can be no greater loss than that of a child. God gave us the most precious gift by sending his son Jesus to us to teach us the way to heaven. May God give you peaceful moments and beautiful memories of your Jordan. I will be thinking of you and praying for you. ❤️🌹🙏🏼

@sheva9822 I am so sorry that you are now among us, who have lost their Mom. My mom passed away in 2012 and then my grandmother in 2019 right before the pandemic hit. I still have good days and bad. Its so terribly hard at times to not be able to reach out and just call them both and hear their voices. The comfort that I know they are both together and continue to watch over me and my children eases the pain on those difficult days and blesses me on the good. I see you too dear sister in grief. Turned my Mom onto K-love and Christian music over 20yrs ago. This was one of her absolute favorites. (THIS' AND Jeremy Camp's "GIVE ME JESUS") We played them both at her funeral, 6 days shy of her 76th birthday-Sept 2022, when God had finally called her Home, she earnrd Her Wings no doubt, AND she was being given her Heavenly reward. No doubt had she earned that, just by raising ME! She's out of her broken body that failed her....in a brand new perfect body...I even picture her running now! She's been reunited with her hubby, her parents, who died very young & have been gone for such a long time. AND, She's reunited with her grandbaby....Though 21yrs old , where society says he's a man- His Momma (me) & My Momma, would have to agree to disagree. At 21, we're still soo young, naive, maybe lacking some maturity, and we certainly do not know all we think we do. SO- he was still our baby. I know they're back together, and it gives me comfort... Yes always loved this song. One of the more eatlier memorable CCM songs.
