Gosh I’m glad I’m not alone! I completely understand everything you said I’m a sophomore as well and I feel so drained like I’m out of it already. And the thought of having two more years left of high school is draining bc I feel like we’ve been learning the same thing and when you said that you feel like they’re just “extending it to make us be in school til we’re 18” is what I so feel.

I relate to you so much. Everything you said applies to me. I’m only a freshmen in high school and it’s draining and I don’t see a point in learning of some of the things I am “forced to Learn”. Your not alone.

thats how ive always felt abt school too, thats why i started homeschool tbh its a new way of actually learning and loving it and tbh its something new i think you would enjoy!! sometimes it does get a bit boring but just going out, or like going to a friends how entertaining urself, with also having a flexible schedule is something that i personally likee

School in 2023 (draining and monotonous) vs school in 1995 (fun and exhilarating) :) Not all schools follow this pattern but I feel like school back in the day was a lot more engaging and enjoyable :)

i've been homeschooled for 2 years now and to me its 100x better than being in public school. you still have to join classes obviously but I love that I can work at my own pace and if I ever have to go out of town or something I don't have to miss school since I can just take my laptop with me.

I understand everything you’re talking about. When it’s something I know won’t benefit me for my future or in general in life it’s just draining to learn required subjects and topics that won’t benefit me what so ever or I’ll simply forget about months and weeks later. I want to learn things I’m interested in and gain knowledge on important things and topics of stuff that will help me in the real world on my own not remember something for a test that isn’t as important just for forget it weeks later. You’re not alone with how your feeling it really sucks the actual reality of school😓

i feel the exact same way. school is so draining and a lot of the things we learn i’m not interested in and it gets so exhausting. i would suggest homeschool!! i’m starting homeschool and it’s honestly much better. you can choose what interests you to learn and it doesn’t feel like you’re forced to learn something you don’t like

I relate so much. I am also in my second semester of sophomore year. At times i am genuinely happy to go but other times aren’t the best. I mentally don’t feel as though school is the best environment for me. I struggle with anxiety and socializing with others so most days aren’t the best. I’m honestly just trying to get through high school making some memories along the way but it’s been rocky. Love all your videos Ali 💗💗

I totally agree with you and I am on your side. I am I’m high school and it is draining. I realize that they are just extending school till you are 18. And I really don’t like that because people that don’t like school are not learning anything, but people who love school are learning everything. I think it should not be mandatory after your sophomore year of high school. But I also agree Ali that you want to like school but like it’s not fun.

I graduated 5 years ago, and I was the same way. Now that I live independently and in the "real world,"...I see how most of what I learned applied. Percentages, for example... learning that in high school helped me when working in a retail store and now when I shop. It is mainly to get you to the point of fluency in basic math for your college classes. Don't feel pressured to follow in everyone else's footsteps and go to a 4-year university right after. Do what is going to make you the happiest. I learned that the hard way.

Honestly in my opinion enjoy your high school years because they go by so fast and they really do, you’ll have your ups and downs toward school wanting to quite and give up at some points in your life, but I’m a senior this year and it honestly just gets more stressful towards your last year. Of course you wanna be done high school and all but you have to think about once your done you may or may not talk to those friends who made you high school life the best , I wish I was sophomore honestly it stress free teacher an counselor don’t be nagging you asking you want to after school, what college you want to get into , but just enjoy your high school experience even though you don’t want to go to school sometimes those moments will be the best. I hope you do well through out the rest of the years you have until you graduate but make the most out of those years enjoy it with being stress free don’t think about graduation already cause once that day comes you would wanna wish you were a freshman reliving high school or maybe not 😊

I do online school but regret it, I am a freshman (15) and I learn for 15 hours a day (actual working time) with a 2 hour break. Not only that I only do one subject at a time which is also repetitive its just warm-up, instructions, assignment, summary not even kidding, that exact order I would do anything to do public again It's so draining.

welcome to the real world. it’s sad that it’s the way it is but it’s never gonna happen. there’s rules and regulations set for a reason. as a senior in high school, you don’t wish that time would go by faster trust me. literally gonna be all alone at college away from family. leaving old high school friends. and i HATED high school. but i definitely wish time didn’t go by so fast. not everything is meant to be fun- some departments are necessary for education.

school isnt supposed to be fun, its supposed to teach you to live in the real world.. if youre only going to school to be entertained and then you dont learn that is not the schools fault. there are also plenty of ways you can use all of the stuff you learn in every class in the real world, especially algebra and all english classes. youre not just learning how to write essays, youre leaning correct grammar and how to understand what you read no matter what the writing style is.

if you are getting a's and b's, you are learning. education is a privilege, not a right. i completely understand where you are coming from, but you do not understand how lucky you are. i personally work at a school and being in a teacher's position is hard. it is not that easy to teach the younger generation. the school system should be changed though. it is so old and it frustrates me that students are not learning, they are just getting feed information that does not apply to current times. there are always online school options. i am in college and it is much better in so many ways.
