Do you work at one of the new Food Lions? We just had a brand new one open in our town (they closed the one that had been there for 20+ years) and it is BOMB. It’s like Publix quality. I love Food Lion now and the store stays busy.. and the new hot bar is amazing! 🤤

@Alicia Jones Yeah I think it depends on which Food Lion. Everybody goes through different experiences. I think you should give it a try and if you don’t like it you can always try somewhere else.

I want to apply to food lion, but the application, it shows that you need to be able to push and pull 75 pounds and lift and bend 50 pounds as a cashier. How often do you actually have to carry that amount of pounds at food lion?

Hey Princess Apple Tree this is actually the first time im hearing this when I applied I wasn't told that.I dont carry that much if I feel that the carts are too heavy to push I take some out. Heavy items that the customers may use we inform them that they can keep it in the cart and well use the barcode gun.I hope this helps. good luck to you❤️

@@annapiatak5494 we mostly inform the customers to keep the heavy items in the cart to spare both the customer and the employee.This way its a fast and easy checkout.

I've been working at Food Lion for almost a year now, you don't really have to lift anything up unless if your handscanner doesn't work on one of the registers, which I was on it the whole day one day. But you will gain the muscle even if you can't. I'm not a very strong person myself, so if I can't really pick anything up, I just as the customer if they can take it. There are times that they do put it on the conveurbelt (or however you spell it) but I usually scan it with the handscanner and they take it off immediately. I rarely do carts too, last time I did carts completely was probably a month ago.

@@callboxib1661 Ive also been working for Food Lion for a year.Oh my gosh if your gun/head scanner don't work that is the worse, thank god for technology because I cannot imagine how they did it in the past.I believe they pick and choose who does carts but now everybody does carts there is no cart cleaner before you go to lunch or the end of your shift you have to got get carts.Do y'all do the same thing at your Food Lion?

Heyy, you should be fine I don’t think they are going to turn you away because you don’t have experience. Food Lion would definitely be a great place to start. Most jobs are willing to work with you because they are low staffed.Having 0 work experience isn’t a bad thing and it can change.

Yes they are and because you are a minor the latest you’ll be working is 10:00.You also have a 45 minute break.Let them know what days you want to work and they’ll schedule you based on your availability.

Heyyy 💗.Yes I applied online and ask for an update on my application nonstop till I got the job. Also they gave me a uniform the first one is free if you want another one it is 11 dollars. They only give you the shirt. You provide you own black pants and any black shoes. My food lion let us wear crocs I don’t know if every food lion allows that. Also when it comes to pants my food lion wasn’t strict as long as it with was black I wore tights yoga pants jeans stacked jeans with no problem. Mask had to be black if not no logo unless it was Food Lion.
