Come Together NYC - "Imagine a City With No Gun Violence"

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus work with students from around NYC's five boroughs to create an original documentary focused on imagining a city with no gun violence. This documentary was created as part of the Cultural Immigrant Initiative supported by The Mayor's Office, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York City Council. Latin GRAMMY Superstar Prince Royce, NYC Council Members Daniel Dromm, Alicka Ampry-Samuel and Mark Treyger serve as Celebrity and Political Ambassadors to promote student activism and shine a light on issues surrounding gun violence in our city and country. NYC students Kadija Kone, Matt Diaz and Christopher Underwood engage in a round table discussion with our ambassadors to pose the questions, thoughts and concerns on their minds. This made me cry, both with sadness and hope I am so grateful to the JL Educational Tour Bus participants. You are clearly making a difference. If I can be of help, I am down the road in Philly. I not only have my Music Ed degree, but I am the Grand Prize winner of 2017 Session 1 JLSC for Best Children’s Song. I write educational music, much of it in the vein you work in. I would love to hear what your teachers and students could do with a song of mine, “No Time For Hate.” I would love students to re-arrange it to a different genre/vibe. It is scored and ready to go.
