Bonnie is so pretty! She was my mom’s best friend in high school….no, I’m not kidding! Years later, mom was watching the Twilight zone. At one point, she went into the kitchen and suddenly she heard Bonnie’s voice coming from the living room!

Yes, my mom grew up in Edina. She never met Bob Dylan but she knew they were together. I know that song was inspired by her because I read about it a few years back. I played it for my mom and she loved it! My mom just passed away in September. Do you know if Bonnie is still alive? When Bonnie went off to Hollywood, my mom went to college in St. Cloud and met my dad. They moved further north where us kids were born and raised.

Do you consider the time loop to be inevitable?
@bentonrp Жыл бұрын
The time loop is "likely" due to how many of us "wandering men" would make the wrong decision: Searching for something authentic, but not willing to face the sacrifices that truly Authentic things demand. She knew this (Mary-Rachel heard in the lyrics of the past), wrote it into the song (Mary-Rachel singing it in the present), mourns her own future fate within it (Mary-Rachel still trapped in the town as an old lady mourning over Floyd's nearby grave), ... And that's what makes the song's sound such a valued one over other music that can just be created in the Episode.

There are clues all over the video and in the song lyrics, but it does come down to interpretation, doesn't it? Great song and actress, but hasitly developed storyline...comes across as somewhat nonsensical and trite with regard to the physical/metaphysical play. Serling liked the existential aspect of life, referring to it often--in one particular goody from Season 2 of the Night Gallery titled "Midnight Never Ends." Don't miss it!!
@reddawnstudios2016 Жыл бұрын
I've always interpreted it as a psychological journey through grief. The way it's laid out is like she is looking back at the course of events, knowing how it will end, but desperately wanting the past to change and have a happy ending with the man she has fallen in love with. But, shes helpless to alter the past, watching sadly as it all comes to the same conclusion as always. It's a bit like how a song is a journey you can experience, each verse and line leading you through the world and story of the singer, always destined to end at the same place, same lyrics, no matter what you do or how much you know of it before hand. The song in this episode beautifully and hauntingly reflects the actual events, as it seems to continually loops over, and over again, as the past cannot be changed.
