Come With Us for a walk in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens

Our time has come, and we have finally taken the well-deserved summer vacation (August 2021)!
The first stop in on our trip was in Richmond, the capital of the state of Virginia. This city is located about 4.5 hours northeast of Charlotte.
Since Szilvi doesn’t like to spend that much time in a car, we put in a bit of rest.
The city of Durham is about halfway, 2.5 hours (still in North Carolina). Szilvi randomly opened the map in the car, and her choice fell on Sarah P. Duke Gardens. So we had a rest there.
This botanical garden is actually part of Duke University. This university is one of the finest private universities in the United States. Former President Richard Nixon, but also Melinda Gates, graduated here.
The 55-acre garden was a gift from the Duke family, who handed it over on the condition that it should be open to everyone. Therefore, besides a $2 per hour parking ticket, you can visit the botanical garden for free.
