I just read your about info. Until about a month ago, I strongly disliked the old hymns, mainly because I thought they were “old”. Recently I’ve been pulled toward the antiquity of Christianity. I don’t know why, but I just find myself highly interested in it. After purchasing the “Be Thou My Vision” liturgy by Jonathan Gibson, I started searching for instrumental versions of that song to listen to at work because the song got stuck in my head, and for once, it was absolutely beautiful to me. I’m really really loving violin instrumentals of the classical hymns now. I absolutely love your work with the Celtic flavor and love your life mission to share Christ and the hope and peace you have with God through Him. When I was a child I really didn’t like hymns because they sounded “old.” Now that I’m older, I’ve found that a lot of them are an absolute goldmine of truth straight from God’s Word. This caused me to begin cherishing them and to look into the stories behind them. I’m so glad that you’ve discovered the beauty in these incredible songs! Hey Taryn, I'm currently in engineering school, but I've always loved music, listening to it as well as playing it, and this hymn has become one of my all-time favorites while I've been in college. No matter what other stuff I've heard/played, I keep coming back to it when I play guitar, especially if I'm feeling discouraged. This is the most beautiful version of this song I have ever heard. Can't remember if I read or heard you mention how much you like train tracks which can be seen in a lot of your videos! As a child, I grew up in a neighborhood that had train tracks at both ends of the block which was 1/2 mile long (weird I know) and unlike some members of the household, I enjoyed the sounds of the trains which would lull me to sleep at night; not sure why but they did! Today I live in a Province that has no trains just old train stations that mark a once upon a time!
