I'm not personally a fan of AS, however, I got curious when I saw poles in their comeback stage. I'd just like to point out that the moves they do so effortlessly on those poles are very complicated and take A LOT of upper body strength, so before you go knocking on their sexy concept, I think that should be taken into consideration, not to mention they're not showing off any extra skin or having racy dance moves. This is the mature type concept I've been looking for.

This is one of the things that makes me adore AS so much; they are always trying to better themselves as performers and have always learnt new things for their comebacks. They're a group that pushes the boundaries for what it means to be in an idol group. Did I mention their music is amazing too? Really what more could anyone possibly want from these women? If y'all have not tried pole dancing before, it takes SO. SO. SO. SO much strength. A lot of core, abs, and back strength, and basically every muscle because you're dancing with your whole body and you want clean lines and extensions (point through your toes and fingers). They make it look so easy and effortless, but that's because they practiced hard to make it look that way. Pole dancing is like ballet in the sense that it's incredibly difficult and requires so much strength, but dancers (both ballet and pole) are supposed to make it look easy - it's not like wrestling (or etc) where you're exerting strength but you can look messy and let the strain show. It is difficult to exert that much strength and make it look so effortless and good, so props to After School.

Actually after school does well in korea. They are on the top selling girl groups list world wide. Maybe underrated in America, but no so much over there. It is different in Korea. I know Oreange Caramel has more popularity then After School Club. Yes SM comes before them, but they are popular.

2nd gen the best kpop era for me, cause unlike now only groups from big agencies and from survival shows are cathcing attention and get a good recognitions and not just that 2nd gen kpop groups are all worthy performers even if there is one spesific member being called ”dozen” in a certain group they still actually doing great job and again not just that in 2nd gen era the groups are serving vocals（even if there is one member dont really good at live singing at least the others are capable to cover it up and the main vocals are really serving the ”main vocal” category） unlike now mostly are focus on dances, visual and popularity only even worst now in 4th gen some of the so called ”main vocalist” in questions are so mid like？

There are many 4th gen groups that have so called dozens that can still deliever a performance. However After School was a rare group even in 2nd gen, since most girl groups in 2nd gen had easy dances. While After School has hard dances even harder than most 4th gen dances. 4th gen overall has harder dances, while 2nd had some gems like After School and Girls Generation who also have hard dances. Overall 2nd gen is not that good. Like for example we have Hara from Kara who was a very weak singer and not a good performer either. While After School even the vocally weaker members were really good dancers and some like Uee also have other talents like acting. Uee can also actually act and not just get roles because of popularity.

I think it’s interesting that first love by after school is on this list because as a pole dancer the pole moves they do in the dance are some of the safest moves in pole dancing the “most dangerous” one they do is the cross knee release which is one of the first “inverts” most pole dancers learn because it’s easily the safest but also the ones doing the cross knee release are in shorts because they need the skin of the knee pit to keep them from sliding and falling on their head but even then from up there they can easily use their arms to catch them from falling so the fact that a lot of professional dancers think it’s dangerous is interesting to me because I think it’s way safer than most of the other dances in this list
