For some stupid reason I really like/enjoy Ashley. Her snark is super enjoyable, and she just comes across as herself.

I just discovered Ashley! Now I'm watching her videos. My coworkers & other hospital staff bust out laughing when I say sarcastic dry remarks, often asking why I don't do stand-up. I remind them, I'm OLD! I As a now very old child of Military Dad who stepped up [we lost him 8/30/23😢] I can relate as your humor is like hearing myself & my thoughts! Dad had snarky & dark humor [some from irritation, some from fun], and my humor is JUST like his😂 to the point he would be pissed at my comebacks. My Mom told him, "Leo, everything she says she's learned from you!" And laugh. He was an amazing man!! He took on my Mom, who was divorced from our bio pedo abuser [also military].. married a narc woman with NINE children. Whenever I drove back home for frequent visits, I would take him on long drives as he could nolonger drive post-strokes [he was a truck driver before, during, & after 20yr military service].. so that he could feel some sense of his previous normal. During a heavy conversation where I learned more than I'd like to have about some of my Mom's many shenanigans, I asked why he stayed with her!? [FYI, I've forgiven her and my bio-dad]. He said, "Kid, I'll tell you like I told your grandmother when your mother asked HER if should she marry me." .. then repeated to me what my grandmother's response to my mother was.. "Well, he's either a damn fool or an angel sent from above!".. my dad replied, "I'm NOT an angel OR a fool! THOSE kids NEED a father!" 😢😭🥹 My Dad married and stayed with her to protect her and us from potential abusers. Having someone step into the place a very scary man once stood was not easy for young kids, so we were not easy on him for the first few years. Fast forward to becoming adults, we all loved him SOOOO MUCH, then after having our own children, he absolutely became our hero 💙 We love and miss you SO VERY MUCH, Dad!!

God Bless this young lady and her husband. Humor is the best medicine. My husband is a Vietnam vet and whenever our family is together and someone asks him about his service, his focus is always on the funny episodes. Wishing her all the success and happiness in life.

I can remember telling my parents everything over the 20 some years after 1990. I started with a 12 pack and need more before I finished. the only other people to hear that from me are my stepbrother who was a seal and my current maybe more soon Girlfriend. Other than that, yes, I talk about the funny parts. Most of us do and lock the other stuff away in the deepest darkest part of our minds.

I think I broke my face, laughing about dating in basic training! As a Marine I kinda feel like the "date his dad and go to Boot Camp grad as his stepmom" is the kind of thing that would actually happen....🤣🤣

Ashley tickles my funnybone...actually til it hurts! I was raised as an Air Force brat by my American dad & British mom. We were born in England & came stateside when i was 3. I always wondered why my mom, 6 yr old sister & 8 yr old me wern't able to live on base while my Staff Sgt dad did a tour in Vietman. We lived in a sketchy neighborhood in VA in the late 60s & I still recall the time a group of strange men in funny white robes with pointy hats (KKK) approached our car my mom was driving. Keep in mind, she's a Brit that had not been in this country long. I remember her handling that situation with fortitude, bravery & diplomacy...we got out of there without incident! Poor thing had a whole lotta explaining to do to her young children, tho! That skit Ashley did of the newby wifey in military housing v/s the seasoned vet reminds me of my mom, bless her heart! We'd arrive at our new assignment/house boxes everywhere (only part of them ever arrived EVERY time) & my sister & i trotted off to our new school, dad to his new assignment & when i got home from school magic had happened in our new home! Every box unpacked & put away & new curtains on every window! My mom was an excellent seamstress & would find her way to the Kmart, buy pretty sheets & sew curtains for the new place every time we moved bcuz no two housing units were ever the same as far as windows went. Fast forward to 20 yr old me. Married a Navy guy, got stationed in San Diego with a 4 mo old & cried for my mommy, who i'd never been away from for months. Even tho i was raised military, there's a huge difference between Air Force & Navy! Unfortunately it took a year to realize that due to unfaithfullness on his part & immaturity on both our parts decided to part ways. I faired better as a single parent for 17 yrs than a Navy wife...hardest job in the Navy, they say.

Several in my family work in health care, so we are used to not having the holidays off, either. We have always been fine to work around the "day of" for holidays and other events. I absolutely love Ashley's sense of humor. And, yes, it's so true - irony goes over a lot of peoples' heads. But it can be the best humor.

It's an ugly part of modern society that people feel they can be rude. Before if you didn't like something you might discuss it at home in private. So it never affected the artist/ comedian/ celebrity. But people have lost their manners and say vile things right to their faces. So bizarre. Ashley is very funny. I love her videos. 👏🏻

I just watched this for Ashley. Great interview, lots of smiles and laughs. I'm confused by the talk show hosts that r Uber famous. This interviewer does mention she worked in broadcasting before, so that is probably why she LET HER GUEST TALK! I found out more about the reasons for Ashley's comedy is hers in this episode, than any other time. Ask questions, allow for responses. Don't try to be funnier than the guest. I love comedy, and could watch Carson all day. But the newer hosts really try too hard. I don't want to be a negative Nelly and keep going, but letting the guest endear themselves to the audience. Smile and make eye contact, the best u can on Zoom. It's a good podcast idea for current and former military. Y'all NEED an outlet and to build each other up. All of us on the outside only see u at Walmart and on TV. No one knows the real life and sacrifice that u do. I'm non military, but I have family members that have served. New spouses need support. They really might think they r allowed to park in the GEN/ADM parking spots, Nooooo. And hey, u can also do a part at the end for babysitting ads 😂.

A base can not operate with all "part time positions". So there's a portion of the reserves that are "full time" keeping the base humming.
