I am from Northern Ireland, I have seen many great comedians such as Freddie Starr, Frank Carson, etc. I seen these acts while on holiday in Blackpool England with my dad. My dad and I went to Blackpool every year on holiday for about 25 years, and we always went to see comedy shows! I will never forget the first time we went to see a show on the North Pier, and the supporting act was Duncan Norvelle! He came skipping down the aisles, and we almost piss*d ourselves laughing! The man was SOOOOO funny, that funny that anytime we came back to Blackpool we looked for him performing anywhere as we LOVED him! We have his DVD from years ago "just for laughs" and we watch it all the time! The man is, and always WILL BE a legend! So sad and so sorry that we have lost him! We have lost him, but heaven has gained a star! RIP Duncan, and thank You so much for the laughs You gave us! xoxo

Very sad news. Duncan had a iconic style of delivering his jokes and often had me doubled over with laughter. He was the fore runner for many comedians that have a similar comedic style as himself. I had no idea that he had to deal with the aftermath of having a stroke but what fighter he came back from it and performed again . Rest in Peace. You will be sorely missed x😢

It was the revival of "New Faces" with Marti Caine at the helm that discovered Duncan as a comedian. "Saturday Royal" was made by the same station, Central Independent Television, the successor to the fully established ATV in the 1980s. Starred Lionel Blair, the show came live from the Theatre Royal in Nottingham, only somewhere over the road from Duncan's birthplace!
