I am apalled that this show got cancelled. It was just too amazing. I will miss it so much

I understand, but eh this isn’t that funny or entertaining to (maybe just) me. Maybe ratings weren’t high enough? I just can’t balance the narrative with the drunk part, it gives me a headache. But I can very well see this having passionate fans.

@n5435764 жыл бұрын
@@bephrem Eh, ya its probably just you. More then likely its less based on rating (because history is a niche topic anyway be it with celebrities or not) and more just CC just wanted more money they they knew they could get with a different show. Im willing to bet even if this show pulled over 2 million views and ep (which just based on youtube alone isn't too improbable of an estimate) it STILL would have been "unsatisfactory". I hope KZbinrs pick up on this concept of Drunk history re-tellings because its actually pretty brilliant!

It touched my heart that he was so moved by the first narrator’s story. I love to see that from informative pieces like this, even though they’re also comedic. It’s a shame they got canceled, because it’s so important to keep history alive so we don’t have to keep repeating it.

As a mental health professional, there’s no way in hell I’d go undercover in psych hospital, especially back in the day. I don’t trust the system enough to believe they’d ever let me back out. Edit: Not saying all mental health facilities are bad. The majority of them help people. That being said, we still have a long way to go and need wayyy more funding for mental health.

I actually found that it was harder to be put on a ward, and to stay there, because there were far too few beds and way too many people who needed one. So even if releasing someone might not have been the safest or best option, it was weighed against someone else's needs. Basically, the squeaky wheel got the grease, so even if you needed the care, it didn't matter if someone else was deemed to need more help than you or be 'worse off' than you. Of course, this was not a long-term facility, just a short-term ward where the stay was supposed to be between one and three months. It wasn't uncommon to see people rotated out after less than a week, even if they still needed that acute care.

Pamela Mays I saw a behind the scenes thing where they said EVERYONE who’s done the show has puked at some point during filming. In fact, they keep a doc and paramedics on hand at all tapings and have had to retape several episodes bc the narrators were so inebriated they couldn’t finish lol. I think the vid is on KZbin as something like “what you didn’t know about drunk history” or something along those lines.

There are still many who are. I would blame the problems we have more on the companies who run the media and news stations than the actual reporters. I think the public is partly to blame too. On one hand, people need to take responsibility and do their own research on important topics instead of just repeating propaganda because it backs up their own beliefs. On the other hand, people also have got to stop creating echo chambers for themselves and claiming legitimate news is fake just because it doesn’t support their position on issues. It seems like many people would rather hear what they want than hear the truth and that is going to be one of the US’s biggest downfalls in my opinion.

You are more correct than you think: that is literally the reason Fox News was created. Richard Nixon's strategist and "Executive Producer for television" was Roger Ailes, who went on to found Fox News, believing that a dedicated pro-GOP propaganda network could've saved Nixon from having to resign.
