The four things that killed this show: 1 - Aston, good actor and comedian but tried to replace someone whose shadow was the entire show. Plus the really sh*t storylines they wrote for him were just boring, as was the character. 2 - Jake kept getting dumber and dumber every episode and once they realised this, they slowly eased him out of the show too until he straight up left the house to avoid Charlie's fate (look it up, as the seasons go on, Jake's appearances decline). 3 - Alan started out as a victim of abuse from everyone around him. After Walden showed up he became a spiteful, arrogant rude and narcissistic leech who we all spent the last 4 seasons wondering why Walden didn't just kick his a** to the curb. 4 - Bear in mind that I didn't have a problem with Charlie's death itself is because at the time, the actor was really messed up and got what he deserved (fired) at the time. The real problem was that instead of him finally showing brotherly love, aka giving Alan the house since he was gonna live with Rose or even still killing him off but leaving the house in a will. They simply killed him off, wrote everyone to give the bare minimum of grief, and introduced a poor imitation to replace him simply for more cash.
