The very fact that SBC went up against Patrice while in character shows just how confident he is as a comedian. And Patrice poked back once he got into his rythmn. Two of the greatest comedians of that era. I wish they had hung out even more, what a combo that would have been.

My ex and I saw Borat on opening day and people were literally laughing themselves out of the chairs. I've never experienced a movie like this in person and I was at the premiere of South Park BLU. Sasha is a gem!

You do realize all those questions were given to O&A in advance by the film makers, right? I mean it's the same questions that were asked on every other talk show.

For example Patrice asking him about the exchange rate and wars etc is almost certainly not scripted. Borat still has answers that are simultaneously funny, clever, and not obviously false unless you know a lot about Kazakhstan.

Notice how Patrice came in talking WITH Borat as if he’s actually a real person. He respected SBC’s art and accepted that Borat would be the real person in the interview and SBC is not a known person. Patrice wasn’t laughing at everything just cause dude is in character. He was asking him real questions sometimes about his country.

Well of you haven't already... look up the "up and down game" with Patrice. One is the full show for that day, another is Opie-cam in studio during the actual bit. It's got one of Patrice's (his words) "top 7 laughs I ever had in my life" moments, as they laugh at Bobo's magical penis alternating from hard to soft repeatedly as Norton switches between talking to him about fucking a girl and then baseball/the NY Mets. One of the greatest laughs ever

defAngel No scope for Borat part 2. So SBC and his PR team releasing these videos on the net, BD etc now. When Borat 1 was in the market for release, he did a lot of promotion work all around. Now he is cashing in on this. Money from blu-ray sales, utube, online is not so big money like box office but it helps out with his publicity for the upcoming this is America series. Borat is his best work and lot of people out there are big fans of this, and additional videos like this just increase his fan base.

Brandon M If that’s all you took from the movie it shows your level of intelligence. I’ve found you can often tell people’s level of intelligence by how much they get the humour and satire. People who just focus on the few scripted scenes and the high five line tend to be dumb asses. Ali G was a great character by Sacha Baron Cohen. I remember watching early episodes of the awesome "Ali G Show" and loving this weird sexist foreign guy Borat who used to make the occasional appearance. e.g. unsuspecting Animal Rights activists were protesting the fox hunts and Borat got amongst them doing interviews, trolling the shit out all of them, saying "in my country we shoot bears" and stupidly grinning at them as they got outraged. Who would've thought this funny off-beat character would end with own movie that grossed $260 million?
