For a relatively new housing estate, you would've thought they would have done the roads aswell! The condition of them look very dilapdated.
@sunsetblue17597 жыл бұрын
They did. Those streets used to be COBBLED, when I first walked down them. OK relative is a relative term. The streets in worst condition, I think they just laid tarmac straight on top of the cobbles.

Thinking of all the history and good times at the BBG makes this video very depressing.....

The road surface is as bad as the playing surface use to be at the Baseball Ground.

What about that time in April 1977 when they had to paint the lines on during a match with Man City LOL, surely not that bad !

Out of curiosity why did Derby move out of the BBG?
@comedyhunter3 жыл бұрын
I think he BBG was getting a bit dated and not suitable for modern footy, the land at Pride park was a better option and had good transport links. Also its when they were promoted to the Premiership league

@@comedyhunter yh but with the history there, surely with some investment could have remained there. I live close to the BBG, whenever I drive past I feel a sadness in the heart.

@@MHM-og6qj BBG Closed due to health and safety. Mostly made of wood. FIRE HAZARD. So sad. I lived so close for many years.

Hi Andy, thanks for the video of the area, I spent a few hours in the area during the Baseball Days, watching Derby play, it held a few memories I can tell you, sometime I must get back to Derby and visit Pride Park I have only seen it on TV.

Yes Cambridge street has not really changed one bit. There are still a few houses around the ground area that have not taken the window grills of yet !!!

I noticed there is a park area by baseball drive (been there myself) (minute 3.40) was that part of the stadium or is it all houses?
@comedyhunter8 жыл бұрын

It's like the ocean. You now it's still there. Just close your eyes. you can see, hear & smell it. Passing the Blue Peter on the way in, starting to get excited then. Cobbled streets - later badly paved over. House down the left side of Cambridge street somewhere with a woman selling programs out her front window. Listening to Sports Report on the way home, falling off high curbs, a lad in a crowd of adults. It's still there.
