Agreed 100%! Designers think we are stupid just like the regents, who run the Universities in the SEC, think black college football players and their parents are stupid. They allow their sons to go to the institutions who hated them and had to be forced to let them attend instead of improving their own HBCU's. Designers, College Regents its all the same black folks are easily manipulated.

I’m not really gonna tell folks how to spend their money, but Jim Jones was looking very foolish on this take. He got on video and ranting about how he was being mistreated in a store yet he stayed and spent his money with them anyway? That makes him look like a complete dumbass. Jim walked in Gucci store and had the option to walk out, but he chose to stay and still buy their brand. He could have made a video exposing them by telling black folks not to patronize their business. Celebrity or not if an establishment doesn’t think my money or time is worthy, then I’m leaving. I’m not begging no one to take my money.

Totally agree - it’s not even about money with high end brands, they do not want black people in their clothes or wearing their accessories. These brands were not made for us and we cheapen their brand.

I hear Brandon, I just wish we as black people get past thinking supporting black means automatic discount. We will go to high end stores and know better than to ask for a discount. We want to flash what we got. We go to our own stores and can find every reason to complain about the product or service, if we don't get the discount we are looking for.

There are designers all over the world that make everything from street fashion to formal wear, and there are talented designers graduating design schools every year. There is nothing a racist company like Gucci makes that another designer can't make. Jim Jones is an artist in one of the most artistic cities on the planet - he should be a phone call or two away from a competent creator in any field of art. Maybe he still spends too much time around gang gang.

@@HeLIEl No, I mean real designers. There are people that make fashion their lives, and truly know it inside and out. Kanye makes ugly ass shoes, but people buy them because they're trendy. Puffy actually has a better fashion sense and has actually won designer of the year before.

@@j.baldwin3012 I get that, but i'm looking at the bigger picture here. Kanye is a billionaire because of it people cop his shoes as much as J retros and his clothes look ugly, but they're being bought up and sold out. Virgil Abloh, (RIP) was Kanye's apprentice and his shit blew up and Virgil was that guy that was under Ye it doesn't matter if his clothes isn't fresh like, but his fashion sense of business is on point. Is all that i'm saying

It's not just about being accepted by White people, it's also about trying to be accepted by your own people, your peers, being accepted in certain groups, in cliques or organizations This reminds me how things where when I was in high school, I went to predominantly all Black high school. The cool kids, the popular kids, the kids everyone wanted to be like and around, where the kids that wore certain labels, dress certain way and who could afford to get their hair done every other week. Their parents could afford to dress them in certain expensive labels, because they had good jobs, working in the steel mill, doctors and etc. When I was a senior in high school, kids where coming to school wearing leather coats trimmed in fur, Jordans, girls carrying Louis Vuitton, Dooney & Bourke and coach purses. They didn't hang around the poor kids, they hung around people like them and the athletes. Even now Society makes it seem like If you have money, wear certain labels, that you are somebody, and you will be accepted in to certain circles It's also is about showing who has the most,. Keeping up the the Joneses I got more than the other guy. It's also about status quo Rap music videos today, with the young rappers and wanna be rappers, They all show the same thing on their videos girls, drugs, guns money, cars that they don't really own, they rent. Trying to act like they really living a certain lifestyle.
