I cannot believe some people utterly ignore prophecies of plagues and wars in these latter days. Coved 19 is one of the predicted plagues. We have a prophet who prepared us for home study gospel practices 18 months before this outbreak. God always keeps his word. Plagues were promised and foretold. Complaining isn’t going to help. Having faith and following the council of the prophets will.

Great question! The way I think of it, He wants to give us the opportunity to keep the faith in spite of difficulties. It’s hardship that allow us to grow closer to Him and learn to rely on His grace to move us forward. If He kept things easy for those that believe, then they wouldn’t have any reason to grow as humans and become like Him. He doesn’t take hard things away usually. He usually helps us overcome them through Him.

There are many reasons why we have hard things in life, many of them have to do with God loving us and honoring our ability to choose for ourselves what we'll do when we are faced with difficulty. Do we want to go towards Him or away from Him? Do we want to choose the kind of eternal life he would like to give to us even if it means we go through hard things during our test on earth? He knows that the only way we can be truly happy in the eternities is if we choose it. Once we look at life with a perspective that what happens here is really short compared to eternity, the bad things that happen here shrink to their proper view.

I mean who’s to say we know anything about what God looks like at all? I agree with you, I don’t think that’s necessarily what he looks like; I don’t even think he’s limited to looking a certain way, but the image of a white, blue eyed God is what most people are familiar with, so I see no reason not to use it :)
