Great one. As a coda, son of deaf parents, I was touched by the mom's positive attitude. She is right on.

I wasn't born deaf. But I am deaf now and have been for about 12 years. When I found out I was slowly going deaf, I was also frozen with fear. I didn't know what I would do. I wouldn't be able to hear my teenagers. I would never hear my grandchildren. I have a college education and CPA license but couldn't even go to work anymore. I prayed that God would grant me a miracle. But I still went deaf. Had God forgotten me? NO!! Shortly after I lost my job, I found out about the modern day miracle of cochlear implants. Now I thank God each and every day that I do hear. I am grateful that he inspires doctors, engineers, and scientists to create complex every day miracles for people like me. Even though I am completely deaf without my cochlear implants, with them I have the gift of sound. Thank you to my Heavenly Father and the Savior for every bit of joy I feel, see and ,especially, hear every minute of every day.

I can relate. My youngest of 6 children is autistic. As a parent, you feel responsible for your children's condition, and you grieve what you see as a disability. You do not immediately realize special needs children have abilities beyond our own. God's works and miracles have been manifested through my daughter, Grace. She has a pure heart with an abundance of love and compassion. During one of our families most difficult times, she has literally been the saving Grace for our entire family, leading the way with her example of Christ like Charity. We have learned to serve her and help her as she has received treatment to help her learn to communicate with us and the world around her. My faith and hope in my Savior Jesus Christ and the knowledge of my Heavenly Father's plan of happiness has shown me the special abilities of Grace and has reconfirmed in our families hearts that we are a forever family!!
