It's easy to look back at a period of time from a distance and lump it together. We all do it. But in 1970 I was a nine year old kid. In 1989 I was a 28 year old father! Remember that when you think about time. Time is a crazy thing.

@paulj0557tonehead2 ай бұрын
I found this quote in a search ( funny how they did the filming in Hollywood, with New York City shots): "I was an extra for crowd shots in a 1982 ABC "Come on Along" series of promotions, similar to this video link. They used a busload of students from the University of Southern California. Managed to smooch Scott Baio on the cheek and won a television in the drawing afterwards". Mar 25, 2018

I remember when people were intimidated by their VCRs! They couldn't figure out how to set up a recording. I remember not being able to believe the TV didn't even have to be on. Times change. . .
@uhdudewhy79803 ай бұрын
I used to fix VCRs and once I told a customer that even I had to refer to the operator's manual to properly set up a certain time to record. Other than that they were easy to fix with just a little training except for Mitsubishi which was too complicated for me to fix and I learned that the hard way.

5:42 - That woman play's Adam Sandler's maid in the 1995 movie Billy Madison. It's odd, and comforting for me to see this, even if it was before my time. Having been born in the mid 80s, I didn't really come to consciousness until perhaps 1990 where I can remember my first favorite sitcom, Parker Lewis Can't Lose. And even then I was too young to understand it fully as it was a teenager comedy. But having grown up in the 90s, I had access to 80s shows, such as What's Happening, and Head of the Class, Alf, Perfect strangers. My point is that because I saw 80s reruns, I still feel connected and initiated with that era, even though I wasn't old enough IN the time to process. But seeing something from even further back- like the 70s, it's funny. You just assume that television evolves. But much of this stuff felt like late 80s and early 90s stuff to me. the bumpers. The quality. The thought put into the production. The sitcom formats. The jokes. The 70s seem like they were such wonderful times. If I had a magic wand, I would wave it and give everyone their good old days back just the way they remember them.

He wrote "Never Can Say Goodbye", which was a huge hit for The Jackson Five, Isaac Hayes and Gloria Gaynor. 7:37 - Interesting how the movie version of Paper Moon starred one cast member of TV's Peyton Place (Ryan O'Neal) and the TV version starred another (Christopher Connelly). The Texas Wheelers was a wonderful sitcom that starred a young Mark Hamill. Unfortunately, CBS was running it up against The Rockford Files, so it was cancelled after six episodes. However, that freed Mark up to audition for the new George Lucas movie STAR WARS... 🙂
