Wait I have a theory, spoilers ahead. As Rishe was correcting Theodore on how to properly prison someone she seems to understand how to a bit too well. Not previous knowledge of being captured but knowledge from someone who did the capturing. Her 5 life is still pretty mysterious aside from her rouge outfit in the intro and her scouting ability at the second ball. She could done stuff she regrets in her 5 life and that’s why it’s mentioned less.

We could have learned more about the Emperor, Prince Arnold mother, and a deeper explanation on why Theodore resented him. That whole Coyolles storyline at the end of the serie was boring. Is that the end of the first season? Yeah, the second book is not my favorite and definitely not the one that I would end on. It's not bad. It's just kind of "meh" for me other than the bits with Rishe training and the bits with her and Arnold. The first book is what hooked me on the series though. It's not great literature but it's deeply satisfying for me to read, anyway. I don't know how interested you are in MBTI Jungian personality types, but I type out as an INTJ. We're one of the rarest personality types, especially in the US. So we don't tend to get stories made for us, and we're often cast as villains in the stuff that is made about us. This particular book series is special to me, because it reads like two INTJs trying to court each other, and I'm so here for it. Two people in a dance of wits and plots and counter plots and they don't care about being the villain if it will safe the world? So here for it. Anyway, if you found the ending a bit meh, I think if it gets another season, you'll be happier with that ending. The third book is also a little unimpressive, but it gives you at least a little background on Arnold's family. and Rishe's religion. I don't know that those things will be significant, but I hope that they will be. And then the fourth book is probably my favorite after the first book so far. Still doesn't have armies at war. But does have a climatic "battle couple" ending that I adore. And both books increase the intrigue a little bit in trying to figure out what's going on with Arnold, because something is clearly not normal royal family stuff going on here. I don't know if they'll ever get into a real battle though, since Rishe's entire purpose in this lifetime is to avoid that kind of thing. And I'm not quite sure who their enemies will be, or if she's just going to make friends and allies everywhere (it's king of the downside of the villainess books is that a lot of them turn into making friends with everyone until there are no enemies left). The fifth book actually releases March 28th. I'm really looking forward to it. It feels like so long since I've gotten new 7th Loop content.

It is the end of the first season. That is definitely quite insightful. I hope they choose to continue so we can learn much more about Arnold. The peak of this season was Arnold saving Theodore. However, this season doesn't even really address Arnold's scar. Would have been better if they contracted for 24 episodes

@@ComfyTeaShojo More is always better. This one holding a special place in my heart, I would definitely recommend the novels. They're not great literature. But they're fun. I'm not sure if the writing is keeping pace with the release schedule, and that may be why they only did 2 novel adaptations. Because 3 definitely would have been a better season ender with at least some info on Arnold's family for viewers to puzzle over during the break. And Arnold decides to just start calling Rishe his wife in that one, I think. Even though it's not official yet. So there's a bit more closure. His attitude is that this is a done deal and Rishe agrees with him eventually, so they just are husband and wife from that point forward because the only opinions that really matter are their own. It's cute, even if they're still at a no touching game. Anyway, it looks like there's going to be two books this year, and I don't think either of them is the wedding yet. Maybe the 6th book? But that might be too soon. This is liek the longest, most acton packed three months that have ever existed. Because from the point of the engagement to the wedding is supposed to be 3 months. And I know there's no wedding in 5. apparently Rishe's ex turns up to make things annoying. Or at least I'm pretty sure there's no wedding in 5 since it wasn't mentioned in the blurb. On the plus side, the return of the ex means maybe getting more info on the religion plot from 3. Sorry for the dancing around trying not to spoil you but really loving the series and wanting to talk to somebody about it. The fact that this is the longest engagement in the world is not helping. I don't expect the marriage to be the end of the story as she's still got to stop Arnold from taking over the world. But it would feel like one thread of the plot was settled. Anyway, have fun digging up more villainess isekai.

Will they at least start touching, kissing, and getting more romantic before their wedding? I like a series that has some actual romance between the guy and the girl. I would think that Rishe would want to experience romance and intimacy, and for Arnold to develop a kinder, more gentle side? We had better get to the wedding by book 7 or 8 at least, and there had better be some serious romantic developments by then.

@@jmwilliamsart 1) Will they get more intimate? Yes. it is as progression of intimacy. Also, this is a Japanese novel/anime even if not set in Japan. Public displays of affection are embarrassing. And Rishe and Arnold are almost never alone. They're not going to do anything before the wedding. After the wedding, I don't know. Books like Red River got kind of explicit. Other stories like Taming the Final Boss were very "pull the curtain down on the scene and just imply things." there is definitely kissing. Also, Rishe is less interested in physical intimacy that Arnold is. Some of this is a Japanese bias about women, probably. Some of it is that she's only 15. She's highly embarrassed and does not know how to respond even if she wants more affection. Arnold is the one more inclined to holding, touching, and kissing her. Don't know what she'll do once she figures out about sex or how she'll react to that. Some of this is probably also that I think Rishe is an INTJ (I'll get to that in 3). 2) What's Arnold's deal as a person? Without getting into spoilers Arnold doesn't feel he deserves love. He's got those scars that Rishe finds in his neck where his mother tried to kill him. And his father very briefly pops up in Book 5, and he's clearly evil. I can't go into more detail because I don't know them, but I have my suspicions about some supernatural issues with Arnold. If there's a season 2 of the anime, it should open with the stuff from Book 3, which is where we get into that kind of thing. Also, I'm VERY sure Arnold is an INTJ. 3) The INTJ thing. There are 16 personality types in the Jungian Meyers-Briggs chart. You can go take tests to find out your own type if you like. INTJs are one of the rarest types, especially for women. (I am an INTJ woman. So I don't usually get romances written to appeal to me, so I find this series very nice, and I'll try to explain the personality a bit.) I means introvert. Our heroes don't dislike people and will do their duty to be social, but they don't enjoy big social events. They like quiet. N is intuitive. Basically , you don't need all the pieces of the puzzle to get a pretty good idea of the whole picture. T is thinking. Our heroes would both rather spend their time solving problems, and tackling logic puzzles than feeling their feelings. J is judging, and it mostly means that they're good at coming to decisions and taking action. There's also the personality function stack, which for INTJs are Ni, Te, Fi, Se. Ni means that our heroes spend their lives living in their heads. The internal monologue is always going on. The analysis is always going on. They're brilliant at putting things together to make plans for the future, and they're really good at both plotting and unraveling plots. Te means that they're practical people to a fault. They are problem solvers. Give them a problem and they will take joy in fixing it. Rishe needs to stop a war by out plotting the brilliant Arnold? It's like catnip. He could not be any more appealing. It's why she doesn't care they he killed her or that he could be a villain. She's got a problem, and she is going to fix it! No matter what is happening, she's having the time of her life. Fi is feelings. INTJs feel their own feelings deeply. When Arnold says that he was smitten by Rishe when she ran into him and them jumped off the balcony? Believe him. He means it. Rishe doesn't believe it. And you know, I'm not going to say that Arnold has no ulterior thoughts or motives. But he really does love her. And he keeps falling more deeply in love with her every book. He's just not good at expressing it. And Rishe isn't good at expressing love either. She's in love with him, but she keeps avoiding analyzing her feelings and realizing they really are love. He's been winning her over every book, and I think it's book 3 where she's really finally in love with him, but hasn't figured it out yet and doesn't know how to say it. INTJs are bad at expressing our feelings because none of us trust words. Words are wind and signify nothing. In a committed relationship, I might say I love you to my partner now and again, but I'm far more likely to express my love by doing things for him, buying him presents, spending time with him, etc. INTJs do not get into "I love you more" endless phone conversations. But we do make dinner, light the whole house in candles, and scatter rose petals all over the place. The I love you should be obvious. We also try to give our loved ones whatever they want, helping them to achieve their dreams. And Arnold and Rishe do that for each other. Se is just how we related to the physical world. It can be a weakness as we're not as alert to our physical surroundings as other types. But when we're keyed in, we can be hyper aware. We're also very good at picking out and remembering high quality items. The great thing I learned with my NI/Se combined is martial arts. As we're capable of getting into a kind Matrix slowed down state where we see everything coming and can plan every reaction and then execute it (assuming we've trained properly). It's all a matter of "see problem/solve problem" but with physical movement. We can also be really great dancers because of this when we get into kind of a hyper aware state and if we've had any kind of training. Anyway I'm hoping I explained the INTJ thing a little? Oh, yes, and we don't mind being the villain, being the person everyone hates, if it will accomplish our goal, whatever that goal was. We could be doing something to save the world, but if we have to be evil and act against our own interest in order to unite the whole world by becoming a villain that they hate, we will totally do that. If our goal really matters to us. To be clear, I don't think that's what's going on with Arnold. I just mention that being hated does not deter us from anything, and might actually be part of our plan. We're okay with that. Okay, I think that's everything. I could tell you more about the story, but I don't want to post any real spoilers. And a lot of what I'm thinking is going on with Arnold outside of the love story is Spoilers from Books 3 and 5 or mainly just personal theories based on those books.
