I think the moral of the story is: there is more precious things in life than books. Even though Myne was upset at her lack of access to books, her narrow sightedness in her old life of just reading all the time cost her time with her family. Being put in a world where books weren’t easily accessible, forced her to pay attention to the people around her. I say this as a bookworm. This was such a wonderful series, despite all the ads)! I loved it so much. 😊

My gosh. That was an insane story. Did I stay up till 3:27am to watch all of this? Yes. Yes I did. Boy I cried many times. and That ending just me like a semi truck. I am silent sobbing with a cold RN because this story was just gut wrenching.I had seen the first 20-30 minutes on some other channel. But boy was this story so much better then I coulda imagined.. im so glad you made this recap because this was an insane joy to watch, thank you

What's with this oil with salt and herbs/flowers to make soap. This isn't the only manga to say this but soap is made by a chemical reaction between lye and oil called saponification. In the medieval era lye was made by mixing wood ash with water and filtering the solids out of that mixture often by filtering through leaves and hay. Often, they would just dilute the lye and use that to wash themselves and use it undiluted to wash their clothes as again lye reacts with oils producing a soap which rinses out with water. So the various isekai characters would make soap from wood ash lye and oil (animal oils takes about six months to fully react hence oils from vegetables and nuts would be preferable to fats, tallow and butter) and so long as you don't mind chemical burns if you don't dilute the lye enough, you can clean yourself with the lye directly which is what commoners did during the medieval era. I guess, mixing the oil with salt, flowers and herbs might produce a glycerin rich hair conditioner but for an "all in one shampoo" some lye should've been added though not enough to react with all the oils (glycerin). Also making paper is much easier than making papyrus, the only problem is straining out the water as a mesh or screen might be difficult to acquire but cloth as in from clothes could be used. Having the MC staining her clothes by making paper would've been more reasonable. Note groves on a flat stone to help drain the paper mash or even a porous stone like sandstone might work though it may take longer to dry. The disease reminds me of the "Draining disease" from "Mushoku Tensei".

I cannot recommend reading the light novels enough. The books are sooo amazing. The series recently finished so you wont have to wait months for the next book to come out as well. If you like reading, and you liked the anime, do yourself a favor and read the light novels

The moment Lutz' father makes him apologise for wasting people's time because he didn't understand makes my blood boil. You, sir, are a grown man, an adult, you and your wife apparently both know you're not good with words. You're blaming you son for not being able to, in essence, *read your mind*. The least you could've done was have his mother translate if you knew it was so hard to understand each other. The family not knowing where he worked was bad enough, but showing up at his workplace multiple times, causing commotions, then accusing *him* of making a scene, when you're benefitting from his earnings ? You cannot use having raised him and your wife having born him as explanations or excuses. You mistreated him. You should be the one apologising on your knees. You're responsible for making yourself understood, and what's with asking a *seven year old child who's already earning a living* to man up ???!!! Also, the very idea that Benno only cares for his own profit is ludicrous, he could have exploited both Myne and Lutz to the marrow if that were true. Instead he's doing basically everything he can to effectively apprentice the two of them, teach them the tools to build their own dreams and, oh yeah, keep Myne alive against the Devouring and in a backstabbing high society.
