ComfyUI : XY Plot Tutorial. You will use this a ton!

XY Plotting is a great way to look for alternative samplers, models, schedulers, LoRAs, and other aspects of your Stable Diffusion workflow without having to change everything around. In this tutorial, we explore how to get this setup using the efficiency node suite. It is pretty simple, but this is something you will use often as you expand your AI Art adventure in Comfy. As always I drop some advanced tips to keep things interesting, but you will use this often.

Hey Scott, I am using the pack SDXL tuple node since I am trying to merge the qr code monster with a generated image that feeds then into the conditions to create the tuple for the ksampler. The only issue is that the node requires a refiner checkpoint input, where I just want the input to be the base model. Is there a node or some work around (Such as setting the checkpoint load weight to zero) to bypass that required input from the pack tuple node?

For those struggling because you don't want to use the efficient loader: just pass the ORIGINAL clip and the SAME neg and pos conditioning to the 'packer', even though it says 'refiner' - it's not relevant - i was able to get deterministic outputs on specific seeds, pretty happy with the results given comfyroll is really neat but also considerably more complex if you just want it to 'work'

Thank you very much. I knowticed, that the amount in the lines depends on the amount of sampler i select. but how can i decide how many images wil be visible in the X Achsis? Furtheremore the KSampler SDXL (Eff.) has changed. I cant any more select the sample state

This is great. Question though: What if I already have a pipeline setup in comfy that generates a number of images and I want to combine all these images with custom text like: What model they are from? I basically need a way to custom setup the graph without using this method as everything is pre-defined. Is there a way to make an image graph after a whole bunch of images are already created like in a folder? Problem is that the samplers are already configured and can't just plug and play like you way you are showing here. One is using a lora, another is sdxl turbo so uses custom sampler, but most are using regular ksampler set to the same values. I'm just looking to compare models themselves and compare the outputs. Not sampling type issue.

Your videos are outstanding! I'm learning so much. I just have two weird questions. 1) Is it possible to have custom colors for your nodes? I would like to use my own colors to dye the boxes. 2) is there a node to define colors that you want to see in the image? is it possible to limit to a palette without defining it in the prompt? My nodes look different already, things move so fast lol. The sampler has no state input, it seems to detect the script and choose it automatically if it is connected which is nice. I was using this setup with the turbo model and it was doing working well. Thanks!

KSampler SDXL (Eff.) Error: Invalid value for X_type: 'Denoise'. Use KSampler (Efficient) for this XY Plot type. Disallowed XY_types for this KSampler are: AddNoise, EndStep, Denoise. why we cannot use this three type?

It would be awesome to have a xy freeu node for testing that out, iterating through freeu stuff and checking how it combines with loras and things is exhausting

This is the thing i missed most from A1111. Not knowing what each word do for a prompt i just created giant XYZ plot to see which word does what. Same for CFG etc.

Very nicetorial again!. The scheduler script works as in the video. When I try three Lora's however, only the first seed seems to take the different loras into account. The second seeds shows 3 identical pictures as does the fourth seed. Any idea?

How to use the Z-axHow to use the Z-axis like webui? I really like the Z-axis because the monitor is horizontal. I like the Z-axis as the title, such as the name of Lora, and then the X-axis with Lora's weight, so that the generated image looks great on the horizontal screen. I'm not sure if this operation can be implemented on ComfyUIis like webui

Hey Scott, quick question. How would you xy plot multiple LoRA's by epoch. Suppose you have 6 LoRA's, each saved at 10 different epochs. Would be nice to create a XY plot of all epochs for all LorA's in one plot, for convenience. I cant figure it out. In AUTO1111 it's SR replace function in scripts, but in COmfyUI???? thanks if you have a suggestion

I tried following this guide but my Ksampler SDXL Eff is missing Sampler_state. Any idea what I can do? If I generate as is, it only generates the first row, without doing the other ones.

You need to update everything, including the custom nodes on a daily basis. Any given days sees several changes, so not updating can cause this to occur.

Unfortunately you can't do hires fix with this - I tried feeding through the latents produced to another sampler to run a 0.5 denoise after upscaling and with the script and it just broke it =( It only does 1 image x/y times.

How to save the plot grid and all the generated images? i only get saved the plot image or the generated images, but cannot save both... When i queue lots of plot grids, i end up with tons of images but none of the grids were saved....

It is one of the options in the sampler node, near the bottom. I also missed this initially, so you are not alone!

Only have Images or Plot, but not both... if i choose images, i have to save the grid manually by right clicking the image inside the sampler. if i choose the plot i do not get the images... i can set it to images and save the plot manually after, but when i stack multiple runs but queueing , i cannot have both... I am stil trying to find a way to have both saved automatically...

Strange thing. I have already installed the efficiency nodes but search did not find the eff loader. I uninstalled and then re-installed but still the search could not locate the eff.loader SDXL. What could the problem be???? Ah, found that searching for eff didn't find it but searching for eff. (Note the full stop) did! Odd behaviour for a search but at least I can now find it.

I have the same problem. Windows 10, previously installed Efficiency Nodes. Searching for "eff." doesn't help. I'll try uninstall/re-install of Efficiency Nodes Update: after Updating ComfyUI, (or was it Fetching Updates) and restarting, there is now an option to Update Efficiency Nodes. After doing so I can now see Eff. Loader SDXL

Dammit I just spent my whole afternoon generating a A1111 XY Plot of 4 images with all my models (128 pictures), and A1111 is so slow with SDXL that I thought it will never end lol it took like 5 hours... I'm sure it would have taken like 1h max with ComfyUI 😫

I just did 128 images and it took about 20 min on my 3090. Your card will matter, but Comfy also doesn't have to bring all of the tools along, only those you load.
