YAY!!!🎉🎉🎉 Props to The Horde. It’s like peeking back in time to the local store shelves that no longer exist, and the beautiful variety that exploded after the TMNT boom. I would say the best highlights are Creepsville with its kitschy horror style that is still popular, Comics Arena (because industry mags featured unique artwork that wasn’t in the regular comics), Cat Claw, a “Bad Girl” character imported from master Serbian illustrator Bane Kerac. It’s also great to see Ribit, an off-beat indie comic by Marvel’s “Red Sonja” creator, Frank Thorne. My personal favorite is Captain Armadillo ❤ with its limited color on the cover that really gets at my indie comic soul. Plus the cover is hilarious. If only there was a whole stack of those, I would weep 😭
