Too literal. You should learn to appreciate figurative terms, metaphor, allusion, simile, euphemism, etc., and know the *real* reason why "chick" can be, but is not always, an inappropriate word for a girl/woman. You can be offended but you won't gain respect by being obtuse or dense or silly in your reasoning. Tangentially, it'd be interesting to know a person who gets defensive over the term "chick" regarding a girl/woman, but has no problem with a boy/man being called a "pig". :p
