I miss making cakes 😞 I can’t believe I didn’t make it to this trend! This is soooooo my style of cake 🥰 I already was queen at drippy icing cakes, but to add the black outlines take it to a whole other level of cartoony style! I did do a Homer Simpson style donut cake a few years back, boy was it tedious to outline every sprinkle....lol 😂🤣. Great job, Zoe 👍🏻

Phenomenal! I desperately want to have a crack at one of these designs! You make it look so easy! Also, when you say there’s a definite front and back, are you not adding the black line details to the part you can’t see?

The black lines go all the way around the cake, outlining everything, both front and back. However if you want it to look fully cartoony from one angle, then, you really need to put a black line up each side of the cake too. This means it then looks best from one angle, because if you turn it to the side, that black line then would look like its running down the middle of the cake. I hope this makes sense. You can of course do it with out the line that goes up each side :)

If you look at a cartoon image its flat, so the cake wants to look the same, so this is where how you place the lines makes a difference to if your cake looks like a cartoon or not. Oooo erm, I can’t remember exactly (but much longer than the video 😂) probably about 4 hours in total maybe. It always takes me longer when I’m filming though, if I decorated a cake without filming it, its always quicker. Also I tend to wander off whilst making it to walk the dog or put washing on 😂 rather than just making it all in one go.
