Joker: Folie à Deux is an American musical psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips from a screenplay co-written with Scott Silver. The sequel to Joker (2019), loosely based on DC Comics characters, Joaquin Phoenix reprises his role as the Joker, with Lady Gaga joining the cast as his love interest, Harley Quinn. These are clearly 2 different universes. 1) That "joker" at the end of the movie would be still too old to be Heath's version. Bruce is still a kid in this movie and like 20 years away from being Batman. This character is too old. 2) Harvey Dent would now have two different origin stories on becoming Two-Face lol. That scene didn’t bother me, because Superman was in an extreme extenuating circumstance that required immediate lethal force to save innocent lives. the Johnathan Kent in man of steel as played by Kevin Costner is kind of at odds with his comic counterpart, he wanted Clark to keep his secret even if it meant letting others die which is kind of selfish.

This is another example of new writers trying to subtlety shiite on their predecessor's work. Happens over and over because writers are competitive. It's why Rian Johnson killed Snoke, and then JJ brought back Palpatine. It's why Michael Waldron had Wanda trash the illuminati, the illuminati trash Thanos, and then he himself trashed Wanda. "Haha. All those characters and stories are shix now, and the MCU belongs to me!" At a subliminal level, this is how they think! Nolan: "Please don't try to imply that your film is a prequel to Dark Knight!" Phillips: "Yeah, fk Dark Knight, I don't want to be unfavorably compared to that thank you!"

If Nolan had any more influence over Joker ending than it explains literally everything wrong with Joker 2. Ending scene always was in a bit of a contrast with the movie itself, ending shows us the closest we got to "Joker" while movie itself was largely about "Arthur". Now that Nolan isn't there instead of Joker sequel we got Arthur sequel which explains the character regression

Yeah, I already got the impressions before that Chris Nolan has been a signal present to save Studios from potentially poor performing content lol. Frankly WB's fallout with him over his firm opinion to still release TENET in July 2020, is where I admire his decision to depart ways. Yet I do feel it somewhat acts as a disadvantage between all threee sides i.e. Nolan, WB, and a project in development, now that creative advice from him, can be less practically passed through on a WB and DC Project such as Joker 2, when the finished product just maybe could have been more acceptable/credible in alliance with the first film.

Yesh obviously Todd had the right idea for the first film but man did he just completely forget and lose it with the 2nd. Now you have to stop the franchise after failing so miserably. This completely took the Joker franchise off the board from Elsworld and really will have nothing to do with the DCU at all unlike The Batman I predicted the film would do 700 or 800m not 1 billion like the first film but doing worse than Madame Web and The Marvels, flopping this hard is crazyyyy. Still can't believe it, I really thought WB had 2 hits in Fall with Beetlejuice 2 and Joker 2 on their deck but turns out it's just the 1 (Beetlejuice 2) 😅

i mean all Todd Philips did was copied the aspects from Christopher Nolan's Reimagining of batman mythos that revived batman movie ip after that terrible batman and robin nearly a decade prior. however it was nolan that introduced make up joker in the first place but what gave nolan a pass is that it was a new concept that we haven't explored with the characters. todd phillips tried to ride off of the make up joker trend without having the characteristics of joker for his movie. joker movies is overrated fan film from day one, at least with chris nolan he made it known since the first movie that it wasn't going to be faithful to the source material we was excited what he was going to do with batman for this new untap direction that he was going to do with his trilogy. Barbara Jean Gordon (nolanverse) is jim gordon's wife in the dark knight movie it was acceptable bcuz where batman ip was at, at the time; which was a very dark place WBD had no faith on batman and gave up on it it's the reason why they agreed to give nolan full control of the trilogy. so to go back to joker movie (joker in name only) Joaquin Phoenix admitted that he wanted to be in the same light as heath ledger when he took that award even if the character isn't even joker: bcuz the shit was not a reinvention and anything of the sorts, it's the primary reason why i'm extremely harsh bcuz they classified those joker movies as the actual origins so i expect for it to follow the source material bcuz we have comics that explore that which the movies did not do but not only that he doesn't look like joker, didn't act like joker, didn't sound like joker hell he doesn't even have joker's equips and weapons the whole backstory copied from Gacy and Joaquin Phoenix's "Joker" even have the same makeup design as Gacy
