Jack and his mother sell their cow for a few magic beans. When Jack is planting one of them, it grows into a beanstalk so high it can reach the sky. Curious, the boy climbs up and encounters an angry giant. With much luck Jack can escape and also take the giant's gold, harp and gold-laying hen with him.
