It depends on the writer and the story, because since she’s been tied with the “Green” as an Elemental being like Swamp Thing, her character has been much further away from the vicious murderer she once was. Her character tortured people, and she fed them to her plants in some arcs. Some writers just had her as a pretty strait up murderess who steals for as much pleasure as environmental causes. She’s so much more powerful now, it’s just a completely different character than her classic villainess origins.

Really like how she started off a villain, then slowly grew into an anti-hero as she got older. Really think that Ivy could possibly become a full fledged hero at some point, one who focuses more on protecting the planet itself and all the ecosystems with Swamp Thing being her companion through it all. Fun thing about her, she started as being intended as just a Villain, But over time, without her Motivations or her Methods being Changed at all, just the perception of the people in the real world Changing, She started to be Seen more as an Anti-Hero than a villain... As in a Hero who's Willing to Kill for the Right cause. Like Wolverine or Punisher. Difference is her Cause is actually even more noble than theirs, Saving all life on Earth from the ravages of Careless humans. Kinda says a lot about how we've advanced Culturally since she made her Debut.

I've Seen her Kill a dude for Mistreating his Dog, for example (He was implied to be Cruel to others too, but the Dog is the one that is Shown, Either way). I Know she's also Killed a "We Swear it's not Monsanto" CEO for Squeezing Some Farmers in Legal Fees with their Genetically Engineered Crops, Made em Swallow some Corn and Grew the whole plant from inside his Stomach... In Both these Cases, I would not consider them to be "Innocents", They Might not be criminals, since their actions are within the Scope of the Law, but they're not exactly Free of Misdeeds either... Most of what Ivy does is to Save Life on Earth as a whole. At Worst She Might be Accused of Sacrificing a few people for the Continuation of ALL Life on Earth (Which would count as Collateral Damage towards a greater Goal), Humans are Included in "All Life on Earth"... Usually the Few She'll Sacrifice are people that have done something wrong (by her Standards), if she even Chooses who it happens to at all.

The Batman 2 would be a great idea with Poison Ivy as the main villain and let's be honest, we need a good portrayal of the character after Batman and Robin. She was good in the show, Gotham, until she was recast and change in Season 4 that I didn't like at all cause Maggie Geha did a great job as an adult Ivy in Season 3 and doesn't even named herself, Poison Ivy in the show. I heard good things about Poison Ivy in the show, Batwoman, despite that show being god awful and bad.

Considering what I've seen humans do to animals and nature, I seemingly have very little issue with her ideals and methods against humans. As much as the human ego wishes to deny and delude us otherwise, we cannot survive as a species without the health of nature. Not sure why she's considered an enemy or villain, more an anti hero I think. She's so underrated and much more interesting than most villains that get a reiteration especially through movies. Here's an example, the ocean provides 70% of our oxygen, the Amazon rainforest indirectly feeds the phytoplankton which produce said oxygen. Currently, it is being burned down for the sake of cattle grazing, 90% of what is cut down in the Amazon rainforest is fed to livestock. We are actively destroying the very thing that provides one of the greatest oxygen providers on our planet. We cannot survive without nature, but she can most certainly survive without us. I wish this was taught better, nature is so important for our survival. Wonderful video!

This is interesting. A much different origin for Poison Ivy than I remember and from other sites. This is an already evil Ivy before her transformation. All the others I have seen Ivy is actually the most technically 'innocent' of all the Batman Rogues Gallery. Not like I'm a newbie either, I was reading comics in 1964 and I was manager of different comic book stores, eventually owning my own, for 24 years, 1984 to 2008. Is this New 52? The ones about Ivy I knew was her never intending to be a Criminal, only crime being falling in love with the wrong Man. Some were her Professor, some the Floronic Man, some where the 2 were the same Man who experimented on her, forced her, or left her to die. And of course the slightly different Ivy of Gotham of a frightened child running for her life from Criminals. So this version is different, but also excellent! I always like learning new things. Next to Joker and Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy ranks among my favorite of Batman’s rogue gallery. It’s just something about her that stood out to me. Compared to the other villains, her methods are more out of preservation for the environment than sheer spite.
