This video made me hyped to dive back into the X-books. Im still warly on in the run, but have you considered doing a video of doing quick, retroactive review of each series in the Krakoa so people like me know what to look forward to and what to avoid? Would love to see that before fall of x!

Have you checked out this one yet? kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2SchaBurd6BpLc It's a bit older, but covers everything up until Sins of Sinister and Fall of X (they hadn't come out yet at the time).

Fallen Angels was huge dud, and it was a freaking *launch title!* Avoid X-Corp, since not a lot happens despite the grand premise. But A lot of people say skip Children of the Atom, but despite all the hate that gets tossed it’s way, I keep feeling like it’s a victim of overhype, since it was delayed so much before it came out, that for some readers, anything less than perfection would be unacceptable. I really can’t think of any other books that are skippable, because the quality of all the rest of the books was unbelievably high. Hellions is incredible, Exterminator’s was a sadly short-lived blast, X-Factor’s cancellation after ten issues was a crime against X-Fans, fuck those anti-LGBTQIA haters who might’ve legitimately drove down sales enough with their whining about “identity politics” if all the characters are fun and engaging than who the fuck cares if most of the cast is gay or bi. They claim they want good character writing to happen first, and that’s exactly what X-Factor was, and they still complained the book to death, don’t ever trust these Comicsgate jagoff’s at their word. All the Hickman stuff was incredible, and even the digital only stuff on Marvel Unlimited, X-Men Unlimited, became a great series focusing on smaller character stories from the World of Krakoa after it’s first stumbling block with the first, poorly presented X-Men Green arc (once Steve Orlando takes over as writer for that story, Nature Girl’s heel-turn story started to feel *a LOT* less contrived and forced, and made me absolutely adore new Mutant pre-teen Curse) and even the more bloated crossovers like X of Swords and AXE: Judgement Day were of incredibly high quality and were one of those rare events where almost all, tie-ins felt worth reading (though the amount of reading for each _really_ justified my Marvel Unlimited subscription, lol).

Got me this year Superman, Action, Power Girl, The Outsiders, Green Arrow, Fire and Ice, The Alternates and I enjoyed Gotham War and need to get more of the Green Lantern series as I only have 1 and 2 so far

I already put my preliminary Top 5 of 2023 on the Elseworlds video, so here are the books I'm looking forward to most in 2024! NEW SERIES: Ultimate Spider-Man - I don't think I have been this excited for a comic since... well, the start of Hickman's X-Men. This is everything I have ever wanted. Everybody else who is excited for this book and rightfully hyping it up as the second coming, you better stay true to your word and buy this book come January. Let's make it outsell the Wells run! The rest of the Ultimate line - New take on BP inspired by Dune? Momoko reinventing the X-Men? All part of a giant story shepherded by Hickman? This Ultimate universe is already better than the original Whatever Brubaker/Phillips do - Nothing's officially announced, but they usually have two books out per year, and I always love them. The most consistent team in comics, every new project is an A+. More Reckless please! Kommix - Charles Burns's first work in however many years. Black Hole is one of my favorite comics of all time, and with Clowes's return this year, it's only right that Burns would come back next year. This book seems utterly unique, and any excuse for Burns to deliver deeply unsettling art is fine by me. Avengers: Twilight - Seems like Zdarsky doing Last Ride but for the Avengers, plus Acuña art? Sold, automatically. Wish Ross wasn't doing the covers though. Helen of Wyndhorn - Tom King and Bilquis Evely doing an independent fantasy book which was described as Narnia/Wizard of Oz meets Conan the Barbarian. Don't think I need to say anything else. Spectacular Spider-Men - A Peter/Miles team up book is already exciting enough, but put Weisman and Ramos on it - I'm even more onboard. Jason Aaron on Action Comics - I'm so curious. Know Aaron's been hit or miss in the last few years, but I'm hoping him on Supes will revitalize him and make him excited again Batman: Dark Age - I loved loved loved Superman: Space Age, so I'm excited for this - although Batman was basically the deuteragonist of Space Age, so I'm curious what Russell and Allred can do with him here that will be different. Also, read Superman: Space Age. The last issue is the best Batman/Joker story I've read in at least ten years, and it's somehow in a Superman comic. Bone Orchard: Starseed - More Bone Orchard, put it in my veins! CONTINUING SERIES: G.O.D.S., Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Batman (a little reluctantly at this point), Superman, Wonder Woman, Shazam!, Birds of Prey, The Penguin, Batman: Off-World, Tenement, Fishflies, Saga (hopefully it comes back again this year), Black Hammer: The End, Animal Pound

Oh, what I'm looking forward to in 2024: Fall of the House of X/Rise of the Powers of X-Just looking forward to seeing how this all wraps up. Hopefully, it's able to go out with a bang. And it seems like it will. Ultimate Spider-Man-I guess I'm more curious about it than anything else. It's Hickman, so he's not always the best with characters, being more of a idea guy. So, just kind of interested to see where he's going with it. The Ultimate Black Panther book looks like it might be solid, too. Transformers/GI Joe-I don't know for sure, but it seems like they MIGHT be setting up for the first crossover of the Energon Universe, so that might be fun. The Ghost Machine Universe-I really want it to wow me. And it has the talent to back it up. But, the story so far doesn't really excite me. It just seems like a REALLY gritty version of Archie's Mighty Crusaders. Still, hopefully they can make it all work. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles "reboot"-They're at least teasing that they're getting a new creative team. And given how much they've already done, I wouldn't be too surprised if they just start up a new universe altogether. But, whatever they do with the TMNT, it should be interesting. Thundercats-They're getting a return to comics. Hopefully, it's good! There's a new Popeye book coming out that's supposed to be done in the style of manga like One Punch Man. So, I'm kind of interested to see how that turns out. The end of Teen Titans Beast World-I guess I'm interested to find out who Doctor Hate is. Or who the next villain they're planning on introducing is by the last issue. Hopefully, we don't have to go through another 5 of these mini-events just to reveal all the members of the Council of LIght, though. Al Ewing returning to Venom-This has already been crazy, and I have a feeling it'll get even crazier by the end.

FYI ghost machine isn't a single universe. It's an imprint that contains 4 separate universes. One universe deals with heroes called the UNNAMED that with heroes that have already come out (Geiger, junkyard Joe) another universe that deals with horror stuff is called Hyde Street, one set on a post apocalyptic planet called rook exodus, and the fourth one deals with a family of time travelers

Always here for the rewatch, thank you for such a fun show to listen too while getting ready, and on the commute to work!

Love the episode. Sal's point about the majority of readers just enjoying things quietly is so crucial, especially in an age where it's easy to fall off stuff you might love just because of the convo around it. Also, on the point of how engrossed Tiff has got in the Krakoan X-Men, I'd love love love to see her (and Sal) go back and do some sort of dive on classic Claremont X-Men, but obv that's a huge undertaking, and I don't know what sort of show/format on the channel would actually suit that sort of exploration (though it feeds into a long-term wish of mine, which is more arcs of ongoing titles on back issues) Fifally, on the subject of GODS, has Tiff read Hickman's New Avengers? It's certainly not for everyone, but it's the first time Hickman wrote Strange, and if GODS #3 is any indication, we might be getting some stuff from it mattering again soon.

Superman definitely book of the year for me. I have never been interested in superman month to month, Campbell and Williamson create such a tangible world and classic style that it quickly shot to #1 on my reading list.

I wish I had gotten back into Nightwing books before Tom Taylor’s run. I currently have preorders out but there’s so many spoilers out there that I makes it hard to want to read it. Leaping into the light (vol 1) was great but I’m still waiting for the other volumes

MCU Kang WAS awesome. They built him up to be legitimately scary in Ant Man 3. But then he’s beaten by ants, and suddenly that tension is just gone.
