As much as I liked Hickman's time on X-men and while I am sad to see him go, I am excited to see where this new status quo goes from here. I at least like where things are right now. I do wish he had gotten to do what he originally wanted to do though, because hearing it come from Hickman.....damn....

Thank you Guys so much, you saved this Inferno mess for me... ... I totally forgot that Emma TOTALLY already did what you described (her having a secret deal with Moira) with Sebastian shaws wife... I will headcanon that as foreshadowing for this. Thank you, again, I was even more upset than Sal about this, before it clicked now... Hickman, you mad genius!

Fast forward 2 years from now when Marvel has completely messed up the x-men(again), Hickman magically returns with an anti-anti-mutant gun.

My perspective on Moria is that by life 3, she was already done with the idea of mutants. She made the cure in that life and only decided to do "right" by mutants because Mystique and Destiny told her that they would end her existence permanently if she didn't. Moria tried everything to help mutants - she teamed up with Xavier, Magneto and Apocalypse. She tried assassinating everyone associate with the sentinel program. She lived 1000 into the future and no matter what, to her, mutants always lost so it would make sense for her to go Mutants are the problem, clearly the universe is telling me that we shouldn't exist. Personally, if I had to go through puberty 10 times, I would hate the idea of mutants altogether

How depressing that DC has become the dark universe. I thought Marvel had cornered that market a long time ago.

I really enjoyed Inferno and don’t think anything was ruined. I don’t really understand why readers didn’t like it, which I’d gladly be informed about. Moira was never going to die because it would have either caused no change or the X-men would just go back to Westchester which hasn’t been a good spot for awhile. The x-gene deleter was something we saw from the beginning through Mystiques internal dialogues. The loss of her X-gene is suppose to be the death of Moira X, she now has a new life where she can be whatever is next. It was clearly stated that it wasn’t that Moira didn’t like being a mutant, it’s that she’s such a pessimist that she doesn’t believe being a mutant is worth the pain and suffering and there is no path to victory for mutants to escape this life. She believes that her 10 lives gives her enough information to know that mutants never win. Which has been a staple of the character since HoX/PoX, to us she seems evil because we don’t see being a mutant as inherently bad. But her character does, This Moira invented a mutant cure. Twice. She’s always had this darkness in her since the reinvention.

I really hope that the Moira monologue was all a show. A way to buy time and make things end with her going free. Because I agree, I did not like that twist, and I dont really buy it. Im really hoping that we will see her in the future and it wasnt true, I like what Tiff said about Moira from POX because i was thinking the exact same thing. It just doesnt add up. Im holding out hope for now. I am a Hickman simp. I love practically all of the work he's done, but this wasnt anything. By issue 2 I was starting to feel weary and "aw crap." I still love the HIXmen, but Inferno just wasnt it. **EDIT** Holy crap i completely forgot about the phalanx thing! Thank you for reminding me Sal! Ok that is pretty awesome to think about, and its something I had been wondering if they were going to explore more, especially with Moira. One of my big theories leading up to Inferno was that Moira and the mutants would ascend to Phalanx much like Humanity did in HOX/POX.

Reminds me of Jack Kirby's New Gods. The characters and the mythos were meant to have a beginning, middle and end but DC was keen to keep the status quo so they took it away from him.

It seems like you guys didn’t like the de-mutant gun but Forge made that gun back in the early 80s. Took Storm like 2 years to get her powers back. I didn’t think that was a cheat. I also don’t think Moira being evil was a big leap. I liked Inferno, though it did feel truncated

Moira didn’t turn evil. She realized that the reason mankind kept turning to death machines is because of the real fear presented by mutant kind. I mean just imagine if mutants became a sizable population and someone like magneto became the leader… regular folks would be doomed. If Moira stops mutants from coming into being, normal people would no longer have anything to fear and everyone would be happy.

"over" for now. Based upon his interviews discussing it the team voted to explore this phase a bit longer before moving onto the third act. I have no doubt he'll be back when it's time to close the show. Even if he doesn't I can say with absolute certainty that he's left the franchise in the best shape it's been in since New X-Men\Astonishing. I'm looking forward to seeing what the team does with the amazingly fertile ground he helped to seed.

7:25 - some man, grieving the murder of his son (by Zalla/Kara/who?), talks to Amazons about some military pact they have. "...and I want to make sure that you guys..." Amazons look at each other. "He thinks we're guys. Doesn't that break the treaty we made with his men ancestors years ago?" Another Amazon: "Back when we were women... and, hey, we are _still_ women and this fellow doesn't respect us, so let's drown him and ban men from our island." Amazon Women: "Works for us!" Grieving man wishes he had learned to swim...

Moria turning evil doesn't even make sense because we see in Issue Number 3 that there's a whole life line where the mutants do win so clearly her plan would have worked in some way. I think she was trying to do something similar to what the kree did and basically Force mutants to become homo novisma using the 5 to create Chimera super mutants.

I enjoyed inferno until this issue i even liked most of it I thought that having cipher knowing was a good idea but the whole Moira stuff was just bad she's written completely differently and it just felt forced, I also don't think Emma with how she has been acting would have done any of that

Learning all the new xmen lore felt new and important. From reading the graphs to learning krakoan. Inferno showed us that no, it wasn't important at all.

I definitely don't think this is them writing out Moira, I actually think this is the planned midpoint of her arc. My theory is that she's eventually killed and revived with her powers and now when she dies it'll reset to krakoa as a sort of checkpoint.

Watching this 2 years later in May 2024, the discussion about Zdarsky's successor on Daredevil is depressing considering what we ended up with. I started to drop since I started reading DD weekly during the Bendis era, and the current Ahmed run is the first run I've dropped. It's boring, uninspired and devoid of any fresh ideas or originality. As to the question of who I'd like to see take the book, it's probably the biggest no-brainer comic question I've ever answered. My dream Daredevil creative team is Tom King and Mitch Gerads. It feels like an absolute perfect fit.

Darkhold Omega was superb, I wish there had been more issues, as the main story only had two issues, which made it feel a bit rushed. This was the best portrayal of Wanda in a Marvel comic in decades. She was actually the Scarlet Witch here, an actual hero, and actually got to win by herself and got to take down Doom and Chthon. I loved Cian Tormey's design of Chthon, creepily beautiful yet horrifying.

Honestly I enjoyed Inferno. I'm not excited about Hickman leaving and putting some of his toys away. But honestly I felt this sort of way back when Secret Wars was done and hickman said he was finished with Marvel. He left Moira around, and if Storm can get her powers back from Forge's device, maybe Moira can too! A lot of steam is taken out of the X-Office but I remain optimistic
