Thank you for making this! I'm working on a creator owned project right now (as the whole team, oye) and this was really insightful. I understand your worry that people are going to take as "word of god," but there's very few resources for creator owned stuff online and I really appreciate it!

How do I find editors, artists, and letter's. My biggest worry is making sure everyone is payed enough. I want to at least see if I can find a publisher who at least compinsate everyone.

Good discussion, sir! I was so overwhelmed when researching contracts and other pre-production issues, it can really be daunting.

Are there any publishers that will accept a graphic novel manuscript without art work? Will any company pair the writer up with the appropriate artist or does the creator have to do that themselves?

I have a question if you're willing to answer Jim. How do you handle the stress of juggling four comics and a day job? I feel like my current 9-5 just leaves me too exhausted and frustrated to work on just one comic let alone four.

I put together a whole video about your question, Steve. Here you go: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKKlXoGIf8eIbJo

Thank you! I know you say that profit splitting can vary but in the example when it says “50/50” is that for sold book royalties, book rights or both? Also would you recommend sharing 50% of the rights of a comic you wrote with an artist?

You should offer rights to your artist as they come up with the visual of the story.
