Unfortunately this scenario has the same problem as everything else DC does where they dig themselves into a narrative hole with power creep and need some unsatisfying plot device to conclude the story. The only difference here is they started nearer to where they need to be constantly asking the reader to suspend disbelief and not think too hard about all the plot holes.

Combat veterans, and other people, who have been through things that the average person just can’t understand, sometimes do this. Batman’s stare, is completely different. It’s like focusing the gravity, and energy, of a magnetar, neutron star, or black hole, combined with the blazing intensity of a supernova, into twin, eye shaped beams, that cut through the soul, of whomever, or whatever, is unlucky enough to be their target. It’s a totally different thing.

All of these individual imps for all these characters. They remind me of the support buff creatures that you get in Castle Crashers. Love the start, "who's a good boy, who's a good boy" to an animal then PORTAL shenanigans happens. Oddly enough I just want like 2-3 full issues of Klark acting like a suburban dad from the farm but not on the farm but with his family in the fortress and just deal with mundane stuff there like upkeep, animal/creature care and whatnot. The laidback things inbetween arc's or stories are always needed and nice, nothing bad happening like creatures dying or Lois falling into the middle of the earth somehow lol.
