Darth Maul is a renegade Sith Lord who was once the apprentice of Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith. He was believed to have been killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Battle of Naboo, but survived his encounter and returned to galactic prominence during the Clone Wars over ten years later.

that's because the Maul from TPM is not the same as later Maul. He changed. Once he was nothing but an assassin, a tool to be used, a weapon to be wielded. Sure he had skills of manipulation and tactics, and he had knowledge of the Sith, but he was never supposed to continue the Rule of Two and be Sidious' successor. So he was never taught the higher mysteries, and he was never given enough power to overthrow his master. This all changed after Naboo, where Maul had to fend for himself, and had to learn. He became more proactive, became less of a weapon and more of a wielder. Nowhere near Sidious' level but he managed quite well.

*Read if you want to know what happened to Maul in canon after this comic book arc* After the Son of Dathomir comic arc, he returns in the end of season two of Star Wars Rebels in the two-part finale Twilight of the Apprentice. It is revealed that a now wiser and more level-headed Maul (yet still insane and powerful) planned to use an ancient Sith weapon activated using a Sith Holocron to "destroy his enemies" (most likely both the Jedi and the Sith as he no longer associates himself with either end). He flees the scene after blinding Kanan Jarrus and manipulating Ezra Bridger to look into the dark side of the force as Ahsoka Tano battles against Darth Vader upon the activation of the ancient Sith weapon, which turned out to be a life-ending pulse built upon an ancient Sith pyramid. We later see him in season three where he and Ezra combine the Sith Holocron from the season two finale and Kanan's Jedi Holocron to show them both infinite knowledge. Maul is then seen fleeing his space-lair and boarding a ship repeatedly saying "he lives!" (referring to Obi-Wan Kenobi most likely). He will appear in the upcoming episode this week.

I love this channels content but this video is full of misinformation. The Black Sun is a criminal syndicate, not at all related to Mandalorians or the group that saved Maul. Sidious is not a body hopper, not even in Legends and Luke doesnt really turn to the darkside. These are amateur mistakes that would be easily corrected by any knowledgeable Star Wars fan.

I would just like to say that Luke did turn to the dark side by the influence of Darth Sidious, Sidious himself after his death on the second Death Star came back in spirit and was able to inhabit a multitude of clones that he made of himeslf before his first death (I say first death because he would killed multiple times after that in his cloned bodies by the jedi), and in the end Luke does come back to the light with the help of his sister Leia, and the two along with others of the Skywalker lineage are able finally defeat Sidious by destroying all of his clone bodies hidden throughout the galaxy (so he cannot come back) and defeating Sidious for one last time. (I cannot go too much into details other than that because I have not studied enough for that but that's the essence of what I know on the Luke going to the dark side and Darth Sidious "body hopping" topic)

to be fair, sidious did hop into a new body in legends after his death on the deathstar in episode six. His spirit was held together by the darkside and he then took over a body of a clone as a means to "live forever"

The Madalorian group was called Death Watch. Sidus did use clones of himself to swap bodies in Legends. His dark side power was too strong for them, though. So they degraded quickly. He was going to use one of the kids as his final host body since it could hold up to his power. Also, Luke was turned tot he dark side by Sidus in Legends.

Brice Gonzalez Yes and no. Because of Palpatine's apparent immortality, Luke pretend to become his apprentice so that he could learn the Dark Side's secrets to destroy him. He had thought that he had overcome the temptation of the Dark Side and could safely learn from it, but in doing so he had started to walk his father's path. Leia reminded him of this and he quickly abandoned this course. So you can say that he somewhat turned to the Dark Side for a time, but it is not exactly what people think.

But the man of steel prelude comic was the first comic i ever owned. It came with the dvd for man of steel.

a couple of errors in your retelling, The Black Sun Mandalorians where from Death Watch (death watch was the anti-peace militaristic movement you mentioned) first and then joined the black sun criminal empire due to a plan made by Darth Maul after the comic book, Maul now under the guise of the old master (he has given up on being sith) reappears in star wars rebels, which takes place around 10 years after the forming of the empire. It is revealed that he is looking for a sith holocron and "Some Guy" (he say's "I've found him" after using clairvoyance).

Maul is stiil around in rebels, he made Ezra help him, find someone by using the jedi and sith holocrums. Still no one knows who hes looking for, but my guess is obiwon, since sidious is well known where he is. Also Ezra was looking for an answer to defeating the sith and what he got was, two suns, basically saying its in tatooine. Leia came out already lets hope obi won has an appearance too

After all this, Darth Maul fought Ahsoka Tano during the Siege of Mandalore and escaped once more when she was distracted with the chaos that was Order 66. 14 years later, Maul would resurface from hiding on Malachor, where he would once again face Lady Tano before the arrival of Vader prompted yet another escape, and leaving Ahsoka's fate uncertain. He and Ezra Bridger would come to make an uneasy alliance to merge a Jedi and Sith holocron, learning of Kenobi's fate and location, after which Maul tricked the rebels into being possessed by spirits of the Nightsisters. He then abandoned them there, but ultimately lost the darksaber to one of the rebels, the Mandalorian Sabine Wren.

Darth Maul was the most underused villain. Instantly more threatening than Darth Sidious ever was. He should have been Sidious' Dark Sith Lord and master, the one to break down the Republic and left Sidious in charge of the Sith Empire before dying, or Sidious killing him as is accordance to the Sith rule of two. But Maul should have been Sidious' master.

Issue with the Star wars continuity is a lot of people hate it for retconning stories and butchering up stories. Exar Kun wasn't just the first guy to create the double-bladed lightsaber. He was also one of earliest Sith Lords to stray from being a Jedi and raise an army against the Republic.

That's not what a battle of attrition is... a battle of attrition is a "battle" of resources. In this specific case you're referring to manpower, but a battle of attrition can also refer to other things, for example a siege in which one side doesn't have the food resources to survive long-term.

Luke's turn to the darkside didn't have anything to do with the spirit of Exar Kun, Palpatine used spirit essence transfer to come back with clone bodies and Luke joined him.
