Lois's dad using Hiroshima as a verb is wild and everything you need to know about the character. Glad to see Darkseid kept General Lane pretty much intact in the Absolute version.

@@furyberserk In terms of characterization, yes. If your audience knows how a character will act in any given situation based on their personality, and not based on what the plot needs them to do, I think it really helps. Results may very from writer to writer.

The thing I noticed in the big Abs flip; where Superman generally had many allies, he has few if any. Where WW was a more standoffish champion of the people, Abs WW is like the world's big sister. Where Batman has a numerable rogues gallery, he instead finds friends.

I like that we get to see the citizens tell Lois about their encounter with Superman and the they want him to use his rage to destroy Lazarus. I also like that we get to see Lois interact with her dad before she encountered Primus and Jimmy Olsen and Kal-El, who told her to stop following him. Let’s hope that Lois would eventually realize that she’s on the wrong side and will eventually join Kal-El’s cause to save the world. Overall, this comic is great!

The way they convey him empowering the powerless and weak is so uplifting and unlike his main dc counterpart, this superman is more grounded and connects with the people in a more realistic way. It reminds me of why I like Superman in the first place.

The Omega Men was one of the first really action brutal comics. The memebers are from the same planetary system as Starfire of the tean titians. They are a rebel group that came together to fight against the star systems oppressive occupying conquers (same ones that Starfire fled to earth to escape) that are worse than the horror stories of the Nazis on earth. The members of the Omega Men are all victims of the conquers atrocities and many of them have developed personalities different from their cultures because of it. Its really something to read and worth going into the issues. Style of the storytelling and art remind me of Jim Starlin's Dreadstar series and his early Warlock storylines.
