WOW .. I played hours and hours of Strat-O-Matic Baseball when I was a teenager in the late 70's and early 80's. So many hours in leagues with my friends :)

Use to play this by myself for hours as a kid. Thinking of buying it again.

I also loved this game as a kid. Some years ago, I got the computer version and it's even better. It automatically takes into account all kinds of things during game play, including RH vs. LH matchups and even weather effects. If you want to play a season, it keeps track of every player's and team's stats. There's lots more to love about it but I don't want to make this 3 pages long.

Hey Dale, where do you get the accessories? The marble champions and the card holders where you can set the pitcher and batter opposite each other?
@DaletheCasualGamer Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The holders are UberStax and you can find purchase information for them at www.uberstax.com . I also did a video highlighting them at kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnOxg3SEd9p-iZY and a handy attachment tray at kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqqmap2fqrSlrcU . The score trackers are from Marvel Champions. Hope that helps and happy gaming! :)

Are the bench clearing brawls in the advanced rules?

I used to play stratomatic in the 70s. We used spinner wheels back then rather than dice. New style is pretty cool.

Spinner wheels in the 70's! Made my finger hurt just thinking about it. :)

I want to learn this game. I want to buy one but im so afraid im not smart enough...i dont have the best memory for stats but have probably a better than average understanding of baseball. If you are still reading comments.....i can get express for 20 or the real deal for 80. Should I start with express or save for the whole game??? I have played D&D since 1983. I can handle some complexity. I just wish i could gage my abilities with this when ive never touched it IRL. Like you KNOW what youre doing so this video looks very smooth and almsot easy...I might be too confused.....
@DaletheCasualGamer24 күн бұрын
@@JB-js4xi I think you would do fine. I didn’t have many plays before recording this play, but I am playing on “basic”. :) Happy gaming!

Strat o matic ads in the back of og Popular Mechanics magazine right next to the Rosicrucian ad. I was young and knee deep in hundreds of war game counters. Memories. I f you wanted to simulate Fenway, however you need empty peanut shells strewn everywhere and every third stair step should be unexpectedly sticky. The new seats are nice tho. GG

I enjoyed watching you play because I play exactly the same way you do.. I do like your little scoreboards and card holders and I'd like to know where you got them.. the only difference between the way you play and the way I play is that I use a dice tower but it's the same gameplay as me.. keep up the good work!

I played this as a kid all the time, and just broke out my old set. I tried to order the 27 yankees and was told there is non in print, and they have no immediate plans to print more. I was disappointed that a larg majority of the greatest team seasons are not in print either. Are they going away from cards? I couldnt get a real answer from them....Sadly.

I noticed it was only recent seasons available too.

I had old timer teams from each decade, but lost them in a flood. I tried too. No luck. I’d order if they made them available again.

This was the first strategy board game that was in depth. I used to get the whole set back in the early 90s. But you have to play the advanced rules. The basics sucks
@DaletheCasualGamer2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, basic to get started, but advanced once you get the hang of things. :)

I can see how all of the Strat-O-Matic sports games you showed over the years (I think you showed at least 2 of them since I remember you did one based on a football verison of Strat-O-Matic months ago) are complex and a little boring. You'll mostly just rolling dice, looking at charts, and filling it boxes on a piece of paper, and I can't tell if you were doing paperwork for an office or actually playing the game due to how many different charts and papers you have to reference throughout the video for XYZ. It's like I was watching you referencing a rulebook about 50+ times in one video (no offensive there). Still, it looks different, but it'll mostly likely be one I pass on. Thanks for showing the gameplay of this and the football verison of SOM months ago, though. At least I saw how complex sports stats can get sometimes were people try to review them.
@DaletheCasualGamer2 жыл бұрын
It's a stat and chart referencing heavy game for sure, especially once you go past basic rules. :)
