I think it's more worry rather than disappointment; Japan isn't exactly the easiest society to be gay when it comes to a lot of things. It seems to me she's been hoping for kids and what not and suddenly realised there that it's not going to happen, until he explained it a bit. The later one with his dad is a bit better as he seems to be more able to explain how he feels and all that.

Sex-uality has nothing to do with gender and I am saying this as a bisexual and nonbinary person myself. Saying bisexuals only like girls and boys is biphobic and saying pansexuals like transgender people is transphobic as if trans people are something different. Bi in bi-sexual addresses the 2 sexes (everyone no matter what their gender identity is either biologically male or female or intersex (which is a hormonal and physical condition) ) not the " 2 genders"

This is so beautiful. Coming out to Asian parents, especially Japanese parents, is very difficult and scary. I’m also Asian and came out to my parents when I was 14. My mom immediately cried and gave me a hard time up until I was 27 years old. It was only until recently that my mom realized how hurt I felt growing up gay because I finally expressed to her how bad it feels when your family doesn’t fully accept you for who you are and now she finally understands. Recently, she defended me in front of my entire extended family about how she loves me no matter if I’m gay and vowed to hurt anyone if they hurt me. It felt really good to see her defend me and not be ashamed for once. My mom and I now have an amazing relationship and I can openly talk to her about my girlfriend and our future kids together. She’s waiting for grandkids just like his mom in this video :) And my dad, well, he’s loved me ever since I came out because I’m his baby girl and daddy’s princess. For all my LGBT Asians and other gay brothers and sisters out there, it takes time. Our parents are from a different generation and cultural upbringing than us but they will always love you, even if they don’t show it or accept it at first. Stay strong and hang in there, it usually gets better over time.

My dear let me tell you something. You are who you are no matter if you're ftm, mtf, genderfluid, bigender, nonbinary or anything else. Parents often don't understand it and will sometimes try to change you. Please stay true to yourself and don't let people change who you are. One day you're going to be the person you are and no one can change you then. Stay safe and remember that you are valid!

Her reaction was so pure. She was disappointed at first but later on seemed really ok with it. It's clear that she wants him to be happy and I've heard that Japanese people don't hug each other at moments like these so don't ask yourself why she didn't hug him.
@emiarimoto82064 жыл бұрын

Lol when I subtly told my parents I like ppl of the same sex, their reaction were different. My mom was disappointed and I remember she said "But a man for a woman is better! Even for cuddling!" And she tried to show me that men were better than women for a relationship. My dad, on the other side... We were at a fastfood, eating our 5$ sandwiches and I stopped eating. I was a bit stressed and I said "I dated a girl in highschool..." to which he answered "Do you want more french fries?" I was taken aback and repeated "Y'know, i think i might like girls..." "Yeah I heard. In fact, that's not a big matter. Maybe I should order more frenchfries for your brother" The best reaction I could've ever dream of 😭

I would hate that reaction. Someone has done that to me before and it still bothers me to this day.... People think they are making it better by “not caring”, even though it emotionally and mentally means a lot and has taken a toll you. But I guess it depends on the person.
