Hutchinson's family recently had loads of problem to face and they will not have time to address everything. I am not sure if Rose Lomax storyline is good or not. I think there is backlash because it is a very sensitive issue, especially the connection between children and sex is usually considered as taboo. However, for the people who critized, I don't think this is your business you need to be too delibrately care about because it is their issue but not your issue.

Oh my OA I really actually like this storyline for Rose aka Dee Dee I still wish she would’ve had this talk with Sally instead of Ivy I really don’t know if I can trust her and being with Beau “Brady 😂”. I don’t like what Tony’s saying to Diane about his marriage and falling apart if he only wants to focus on his counseling career instead of his Family then maybe he shouldn’t be a Parent. As for Diane I have a feeling she might have an alcoholic storyline one day and Tony’s not gonna be there for her or anything but he might later on also as for Jack I even hope Frankie will come clean, clear Jack’s name and tell what really happened between them that wasn’t his fault and she also needs to stay away from Lucas as well. 😒

These are two very different storylines, Phoenix ((Not Brooke)) was FTM and had a moment of being Non-Binary and they where also an adult, they are now showing the process for a younger person trying to be themselves and come out whole dealing with school and parents at the same time. Every trans person has a very different story. Saying what you said about Pheonix and Ro is like saying "Why did you have Ste cheat on James, we just had that story where Zoe cheated kn Hunter." Or saying "Why did you bring back the drugs to Joel when Lizzie and Hunter just had a major drug story line" story's get repeated in different ways that suite the characters and remember, Pheonix had parental figures but Ro has hus bio parents they so thus story isn't just about Ros story it's also to show how his parent Dian and Tony deal with it, showing their struggles, their questions during the process. This is a very important story line that will help so many young people struggling with their identity. I guarantee so many young viewers will find a connection to Ro, I know if this story line was on when I was younger it would have helped me a lot so just maybe realise that not every story needs to be straight, or cisgender, regular trans representation is just as important as anything else Hollyoaks raises awareness for

Take her to a therapist. I hope there’s deep conversations because it’s irreversible. I honestly hope she/he takes time to fully understand what they’re saying. So much media, is being shared these days that are trendy and it can be a lot to decipher and kids see it all. 10 years old with iPhones and shopping Sephora! Social media influences a lot and kids just don’t run out and play or color with coloring books anymore. This is a huge adult subject and it would be better if Rose can wait until she’s through with puberty. I just don’t want them to do drastic measures too early and then Rose or whatever her new name will be, have issues with it that can’t be fixed. There’s so much to consider here. The recent LGBT storylines in this show are just reaching the wrong marks. I myself am an openly gay woman who went through conversion therapy and it took years to recover from the damage and manipulation. I’m not going to watch the rest of the Lucas storyline but from what’s happened so far it’s just portrayed so unrealistically and with so many plot holes (mainly from other characters). And with this storyline, a good friend of mine is in the middle of de-transitioning. She was just like Rose, the same age when she started surgeries, she thought because she wasn’t a girl’s girl and felt so insecure about her body that it must meant she was a boy. And like Kitty, her parents pushed her in that path rather then let her grow up figure it out herself. Kids can be intelligent but we can’t forget that changing your parts is a permanent change and is way too big for a child.

I'm sorry you went through that, and I agree some of the conversion therapy story lines missed the mark. However a child being trans isn't a bad story line. While some childeren think they are trans and aren't it doesn't mean all of them are. According to a study in 2023 approximately 0.47% - 1% of people deteansition, it is then found that approximately 60%-70% of those people detransition due to bullying, pear pressure or lack of support so only a small percent of people detransition because they actually regret it and don't think it's who they are. I knew I was different when I was 8, tried to get my hair cut and wear boys clothes when I was 9 until my teens ((which I wasn't allowed to do because my parents said no)) then I finally came out when I was 16, most trans people if you asked them when did they know most will answer with very young ages and it shows in what their preferences where in colours, toys, clothes ect from that age.

The standard age for when a child's brain becomes an adult brain has always, at least here in USA, been 25 years old. Actually the age of your brain being adult and the age of your brain knowing your preference is completely different. A child's brains starts to develop their preferences and gender stereotypes from age 3 to 7, that's why you'll find a lot of childeren starting tk acknowledge their favriout colours, shirt, TV show, food ect around those ages. Surely of someone is a good parent and good friends they will listen to their child regardless of the age because telling them they are wrong about a preference just makes them feel ignored and make them feel like their feelings don't matter. My favriout quote I've heard from a mother of a young trans person was "I'd rather change my language in how I address them, then have to write out their Eulogy." Because so many trans kids who aren't listened to and pushed away do that, they find another way out. Take this from some who has been out as trans for nearly 6 years, I knew I was different when I was 8 but didn't know what trans was, I tried asking my mum to let me wear boys clothes and cut my hair when I was 9, still not knowing what trans was just knowing its what I wanted and how I would be more comftable. I was told no every time, then finally at age 16 I came out and I haven't changed, and like I said, I knew when I was 8 that I was different and wanted a more boy life style. I think it's shocking how so many people don't agree with child transitioning ((not speaking medically I mean more socially transitiong because there are rules, in most areas you have to be out and living as your chosen gender for 2 to 5 years before and medication or surgery. The time will depend on the person and what their GP/Doctor recommends and thinks is best.)) But the fact people say you can't know your trans when your so young but then expect those same age childleren to know what they want to do for the rest of their lives when coming to pick their GCSEs and college courses. Just let kids live how they want to live, if they do change their mind atleast they know they will be heard, listened to and supported no matter what

It is a very important story to be portrayed, especially nowadays when trans people are increasingly being attacked, having their rights revoked, and their very existence questioned. Unlike what happened with Phoenix, I think with this Rose storyline, we'll see it step by step. And Tony isn't as open-minded and understanding as Darren. Kudos to Hollyoaks for not being afraid to tell stories like this.
