@disappointednep-nep24304 жыл бұрын
Here is Nep’s headcanon for the cominturismo brand: the Cominturismo brand was originally geared towards racing, as their first car chronologically is the 1000, a car designed to try and beat the poor man’s Porsche: the Melkus. The car did fairly well, but there was only one made. Communist Russia then demanded the Cominturismo company to mass produce the car for the common masses. This was an impossible task, and had to completely redesign the drivetrain so they didn’t use up all their funding. In fact, the in-line 3 that made around 70 horsepower now made around 2, and is known as the 8th wonder of the world for just how cheap it is and yet it’s able to power a car. That car being the 1117. It wasn’t fast, but it got the job done, and the 1117 was produced all the way up until 1991, when the company lost its funding and the 1117 was no longer to be produced, as it was deemed too slow and unsafe. The company found new light when it received funding from Nopal and Deluxobox, the three companies would later merge into the NCD. There, the Cominturismo thrived, producing some of the cheapest V6 cars today, and their first model, the 1992, still has a cult following.

I really love this car, but I will add that I would've done a few things differently: SOHC instead of pushrod/OHV Single point EFI instead of a carburetor 15 inch wheels instead of 14s As well as the gearing tweaks you mentioned. As far as the price: $15,300 in 1992 would be something like $28k in today's money. That sounds about right assuming the V6 model is the higher-end version and there's a cheaper version with a 3 cylinder still available.

I have a good headlight theory for this. The new and improved cominturismo has pop ups, but to fit western regulations in the new age, the models imported had the pop ups fixed, and shone through a headlight cover on the front, making manufacturing cheaper. This version was given to the autopolitan officials to help gain popularity on the western market, as it made it more easily spotted, and would disappoint fewer people. Some in the western market were still desperate for pop ups, but luckily, the cominturrismo was changed cheaply, so they were able to simply fix a new pull cord, and unscrew 2 bolts to be able to get around this, and it soon became a popular tuner for young people, as it was more affordable then most options.
@smothdude4 жыл бұрын
Would've loved to see it rev just a litttttle bit higher but I think overall its awesome fitting into the company. Suspension tuning is difficult in the game, especially when translating to beam. Instability when steering at speed is typically caused by the toe angles which may have been the issue here, understeer seems to be what occurs with most automation cars to beam and would take some work to figure out but I think its a non-issue. Glad to see you back at it
