Hey, this is awesome!! but... you missed some moves :O You wont find this in the manual, and I can't find this any place on the internet but there are inputs to do the combo finishers anywhere!! Scissor Kick: (↓ , ↑ + P) Shaolin Kick: (↑ , ↓ + P) Shoulder Smash: (←, → + P) *Also in the Options menu for the game you can remap the C button to be one of those moves instead of manual block, or to a taunt move called Macho Yell, which afaik has no other input. I just found this out today by messing around with the controls and wow, this is like when i found out you can ride the flying pigs in Level 1 of BattleToads. Makes you wonder how much other stuff is still hidden in these older games... Oh... and of course, the Fart Move: (↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓)

Wow, I had no idea about those command inputs. I knew about the mapping option already, and put the taunt in before using the knife item. I probably still wouldn't have included the individual finishers in the video though because you can already see them in the combos.

​​​@@AllThrowsFair enough, But ive found them to be very useful/interesting. Shaolin and Scissor Kick do the most damage out of any move (they oneshot kreeps) but they do drain a bit of health everytime (the normal combo finisher versions do not). They are also a guaranteed knockdown on hit and for the default mutant guys 3 knockdowns = dead. So its the fastest way to kill guys, but at the cost of your health. Another use is since you take damage whenever you punch an object anyway, i just use shaolin kick because it breaks it fsster and in some cases hits twice. As for Shoulder Smash, it cant really hit that often. The enemies that can block it, will block it usually. ive only been able to hit it when theyre getting up. but it probably works the same as the kicks. i did find a cool combo that kills the spider things in page 2 with it though. (Low Kick, Punch, Shoulder Smash) Really these moves arent THAT helpful but above all else they do look cool to do. Its fun to make my own combos and do my own finishers ill keep experimenting though. I used to think this game sucked, but its pretty alright actually.

@@Ceaugo I imagine the instant knockdown of the finishers would be useful for sending enemies off ledges and into traps. It makes the game a whole lot easier when you know how to get rid of awkward enemies quickly. Sometimes you can get away with no damage when using the shoulder ram on objects (the push forward version, at least). It seems to be luck-based though.

Yeah i just checked. it sometimes doesn't take away health to shoulder ram stuff and it seems only on certain objects??? And in level one you can shoulder ram roadkill's cage and whiff but still take damage. How bizarre. The whole game is bizzare, but i guess that's why it's interesting. I want to look more into STI and this games development, apparently they had to cut some levels and Sega also told them to make the game harder and also add a rat???? I like this quote from the Wikipedia article for the game: "When STI sent Comix Zone to Sega of Japan for review, it received a note claiming the game 'embodied everything that was wrong with American culture'." (ps you should also cover Hokuto no Ken or Street Fighter 3 :D)

@@Ceaugo SEGA of Japan were a bit harsh XD. I've always thought this was one of the best games ever made since playing it in 1997. Have you seen the concept video 'Joe Pencil Trapped In The Comix Zone'? Also there's the cancelled Sonic-16 by STI which used elements from Comix Zone like the spiked polls. Really interesting stuff. I'm planning to do Street Fighter III: Third Strike but it has nearly 20 characters. It will take me ages :'(.

@@AllThrows Any tips to do the scizor kick from grab and the throw? would you consider them usefull?

​@@Yuri-dk6kd To get the grab to work, you need to be pushing forward into the enemy when you press Punch. The scissor kick is useful for sending enemies into traps or off ledges. The throw isn't as useful, but helps if the hazard or pit is behind you. Comix Zone is about survival, which means getting rid of enemies as efficiently as possible to save your resources.
