The best part of the interior? The throw pillows on the bed. It’s as if a billionaire really wanted that 1970 Bulgarian vibe at 38,000 feet.

Did he say 253 bags of luggage? That's worse than Hyacinth Bucket traveling on the QEII. Some folks just have the life. The 767 is an amazing aircraft and should still be produced today. I do like the 100 and 200 series jets the best.

It's gorgeous. But I'm wondering why choose a 767 (1980's design) over a 787, or other newer aircraft. Even with engine and avionic upgrades, composite is a lot cheaper to run - hence why airlines want them.

Clive Sinclair 767-200ER seems like the perfect place for this mission. It's costs pennies on the dollar to buy compared to a 787 or even a used a330. It has the range to connect most major city pairs and since the USAF has a contract with Boeing for tanker versions of the 767 it's supply chain of parts will remain open for many years to come. It will burn more fuel and require more maintenance than a 787, but that should be more than offset by the lower acquisition costs. Just a guess, but I'm sure a used 767-200er's can be had for $5 million to $25 million. A new 787-8 has a list price of over $200 million and since a VIP jet is not flying 24/7 like a commercial jet the higher fuel and maintenance bill is less of an issue. Also, I don't know where they ended up, but United (continental) recently retired their fleet of 767-200er that were young birds from the 90's. If any of those are available they would make great VIP conversions.

@@anthonymascolo5519 … well used for more like $50 million + but still far less than a new copy

Actually this 767 as far as I know was operated by Contintental, they were the last customers of the 767's so they are pretty 'new' the manufacture date is 1999 or 2000.

No. You’re incorrect. It was built as a purpose built VVIP Executive Jet transport for the President of Kazakhstan. This airframe WAS NOT converted from an airliner. It left the Seattle production flightline as a VVIP transport. The jet was in maintenance at Miami when the President was killed in a Coup D’Etat. The aircraft remained owned by the Govt of Kazakhstan & was used occasionally by the new President & the Government. The new President preferred to use other aircraft as his Party was relatively small. The President was happy to formulate an arrangement with Comlux Aviation who marketed the aircraft for charter in exchange for cheaper use of A319/320CJ & CRJ executive jets. The 767BBJ was used frequently by Foreign governments & was a regularly seen at most ‘Big BizJet’ hubs around the World.

If you want to be no.1 on the market, you should improve safety features of the aircraft. E.g. backup battery-capacity to operate all cockpit instruments and hydraulics for at least 2 hours, strengthen fuselage, oxygen-supply for passengers for 2 hours, in-cabin fire extinguishing-system and many other details.

In case of cabin smoke and disabled controls happening simultaneously far from the nearest airport, so you cannot fly at a lower altitude. The 2 hours I supposed should be 3.5 hours.
@lucamuller67297 жыл бұрын
And how likely is that scenario to occur?
@mememachine89547 жыл бұрын
... You do understand if the engines fail you loose hydraulics, all Boeing an AB jets come with back up hydraulics that run off the APU, the issue you are referring too stems from the loss of all engines.

CEO speaks full of lies. How come an aircraft which flies only 15 hours non-stop can fly "anywhere" in the world?
@RamakrishnanSRM3 жыл бұрын
@somtitious A plane at the current subsonic speeds needs to fly at least 21 hours non stop to qualify “anywhere” title.
