Hey guys, I know this is an older video but hey whatever! When my ships have their formations set at the start of the scenario they move to get into position, but whilst doing this they zigzag do circles and just straight up don’t even go for their set spots, it’s very frustrating and prevents me from having a functional and cool looking battle group. My units I try too group still don’t after 6 hours

took me while to know you cant group different type..then what is the point of grouping if you cannot edit their formations when each planes have different types of armament.

You can edit formations but you will need to ungroup them, edit, then group them. Grouping allows you to more easily direct larger formations, without giving each aircraft/ship etc individual instructions.

I am new to this game. one thing i am struggling with is aircraft dont stay in formation. one or 2 will just run away from what i have set it to do (not being attacked). it will not follow the group command like speed and altitude and just zoom away like the AI has taken control and start chasing enemies on the data link. I have 2 break the group and control them individually. Is there a way to fix this problem coz i cant play this game tactically.

How do you group an AWAC and escort fighters? when I select and group it doesnt seem to work.

You can't group different types. Try grouping the fighters and set their patrol area as an airspace between the AWACS orbit and the probable threat axis.
