Basal, pronounced BAY-ZULL, means an attribute, feature or quality that is common to or shared between all members of a group. This usually is used in a biological sense, but it doesn't have to be. Examples are things like "Exposed skin is basal to human" and "mouths are basal to animals" and "photosynthesis is basal to plants", but it can be applied to more abstract things like "symbols are basal to written language" or "empathy is basal to relating to someone"

Tomer could have gone infinite when he played sliver queen. He taps basal and telekinetic sliver for 2 mana, makes a sliver token, then taps that token for 1 mana, and sacrifices it for 2 black, then spending the black to make another token, netting 1 mana in the process. With infinite mana, he can make infinite slivers with haste, and kill everyone

@joshuavenable88484 жыл бұрын
@@MTGGoldfishCommander @Noah Storz The way to go infinite there isn't from that, but from mana echoes providing the mana. You need to have basal sliver tapped for mana and sacrificed before other people gain priority, or you'd lose the needed abilities to gain enough mana, and have haste to one turn kill. However, basal sliver's ability is a mana ability, so doesn't use the stack, and it's also a cost, so sacrifice happens first, and the I'm fairly sure that other people can't sacrifice anymore. You'd also need to tap and sacrifice telekinetic sliver for mana. Of course, harmonic sliver is also annoying, because you need to keep that ability from sliver's entering the battlefield on the stack while resolving the infinite slivers.

At 28:00 when Tomer cast Sliver Queen he could have won on the spot. He could've tapped his 2 slivers for mana, made a sliver, tapped the new sliver for 1 mana, sacrificed it for 2 more, and made another sliver, with 1 extra mana floating. I think Tomer could have gone off the same turn he played sliver queen, if he was ok with going 'all in', and Seth and Richard don't see it coming and doesn't sac Gemhide or Heart soon enough. Seth was still reluctant to do this later, so this MIGHT have happened... I definitely could be missing something but if you look at 28:26 1) Tap Basal + Telekinetic for red 2) Sac telekinetic for BB (RRBB in pool) 3) Cast mana echoes (if Seth sacs Gemhide here, Tomer's out of luck though) 4) Tap queen for green (or whatever) and sac basal (BBG in pool) 5) Activate queen (G in pool) 6) Token comes in, I think both triggers are Tomer's since the sliver has text from Harmonic, so he can have the mana echoes resolve first.Only the queen is still in play when the token comes in, so he gains one mana. (1G in pool) 7) This puts him back to 2 mana while the Harmonic Sliver trigger is still on the stack, so he can start smashing out as many slivers as he wants. 8) All his mana is colorless, but Heart Sliver is still in play on Richard's board, so all these tokens can tap for mana as well. So smash out a few hundred tokens and make a couple dozen mana of each color. 9) Do the Wildspeaker + morophon + whatever sequencing. Crim would live as long as he Teferi's at the right time (probably in response to either Wildspeaker or Lavabelly), but you still could have 'gone off' even with Harmonic in play. A really risky line but he wasn't 100% locked just because Harmonic was on the board. Unless I missed something, lol.

Tomer could potentially go infinite with a Lavabelly Sliver. He taps the Basal, Telekinetic, and Queen for 3, sacs the Telekinetic to make it a total of 5 mana, puts 4 of it into Queen, making two slivers for 1, with an extra mana available.
